18 County Police Officers 'Untruthful'

All resigned or were terminated since 2007
Eighteen county police officers and cadets resigned or were terminated over the past 41/2 years amid internal investigations into their integrity, according to data obtained by The Capital.

In all 18 cases, Internal Affairs "sustained" allegations involving "untruthfulness," said Justin Mulcahy, a department spokesman.

The nature of their alleged lies is unclear.

Citing the confidentiality of personnel records, County Police Chief James Teare Sr. declined to name the officers or speak about the specific cases.

In general terms, the chief blamed the resignations and terminations on a 2006 ruling by the state's Court of Appeals that requires prosecutors to reveal more details about an officer's service record to defense attorneys.

Call them and have them get in Contact with the White House. Obama will tell them what slick words to use to cover up the lies...

Thank god our Sheriff is on the up and up here and sets the tone of how things are supposed to be.

the sheriffs office has had at least three guys arrested for criminal offenses in th epast couple years, two of the offenses were serious offenses. Mike Lewis has nothing to do with what his deputies do. I understand you like Mike Lewis but the sheriffs office is far from utopia.

The 18 Anne Arundel officers who resigned or were terminated represent about 2.7 percent of the department's authorized strength.

It was in the article, about halfway down.

Do a report on the turn over rate for SPD. How many left in the past 2 to 3 years?

When and if you do that report as 904 suggests, see how many people are arrested and what the court dispositions of them are i.e., pbj, stet, or nol pros.

Maybe, and I can't speak for them, but maybe some of the cops are discouraged because the ones that they arrest are not punished.
