Obama administration deemed Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional last month
WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives will defend a federal law against same-sex marriage after the Obama administration deemed the act unconstitutional and stopped trying to uphold it, House Speaker John Boehner said on Wednesday.
The Republican-led, five-member House Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group, convened by Boehner, voted to instruct in-house lawyers to take legal action to defend the 15-year-old law on behalf of the House.

Its time to update the Constitution. The world is changing and it should change with it.
Shouldn't the republicans be more concerned for the economy then being in other people's business??
Another stupid battle, to hide behind, so no ones notices how they are screwing the little people.
If you open the door for one perversion you have to open it for all.
I think Congress is more perverted than gay marriage.
tell ya since alot of people do it, lets legalize murder too. after all, the criminals wouldnt mind would they? just because you have a following doesnt make it right.
If gay marriage is acceptable what is next, polygamy, incest, marrying your pet. I mean if one perversion is fair, why not open all the others up?
1223, 1252, 1258.....AMEN
Judging the above comments, stupidity and hate is alive and well.
Polygamy, incest, beastality are illegal activities that involve a victim.
A sexual relationship between two consenting, same sex, adults is not.
