Traffic Report

Salisbury Taxi reports accidents everywhere. While comments are stating the roads aren't as bad as we claim, they're wrong.

Calls and comments are coming in like crazy. The roads are very slippery/icy and you need to drive with serious caution.

I called the Wicomico County Road works people, and they told me that they have been salting the roads since early today. From what I am seeing and hearing... That man out and out lied to me.

They KNEW this crap was coming... They should have been out there with the first flake

Here's a plan--Take your time and go home. Don't speed, allow distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and get off the phone. Then park your car in your driveway and stay there!! Go out enjoy the snow in your yard. Play with the kids and the dogs out there.

The roads are bad! Sure, it's not a lot of snow (compared to last year's storms especially) but it's VERY slippery out there! Plus, people seem to lose all sense when they get behind the wheel. In my short trip home, saw an older lady eating and talking on the phone while driving and a man who continued to drive down Rt 50 despite the fact that his wheel falling off!!!! Common sense would go a long way in these storms.

Joe, all I heard on the radio today was how the State Highway Adm. was ready to go. They were pre-treating the roads with a brine mixture then salting. BS! I just got home from Salisbury to Berlin and Route 50 hasn't seen salt since last winter. Numerous vehicles were off the road and lanes were barely visible in many spots. I saw one salt truck on westbound Rt.50 @ Rt.90 and he had a parade behind him!

2:53 - You're an idiot!
They WERE out salting the roads! I work on Old Ocean City Road and within 10 minutes of the snow starting, the salt truck came by and was spreading salt.
It didn't do much good though because it's too cold for salt, within a half hour or so, the road was white again.
I say kudos for them getting out early even though it may not have helped much. They can't control the temperatures!

Joe, please let your readers know, if they don't already, that part of the reason the roads are so slick is because the first hour or two of snow had sleet in it.

Mix that with oil, snow and road grease, and watch out!
