Snowfall Update

All City Department Heads met at City Hall at 4:00 p.m.

Seven City of Salisbury Public Works Department dump trucks have been out since the snow started to fall this morning salting the seven snow-emergency routes. They have placed one round of salt on the primary roads and will plow and salt if necessary throughout the afternoon and evening. The Parks crew is operating snow blowers and spreading calcium chloride to clear and melt snow from sidewalks - prioritizing walkways around schools.

Salisbury Public Works has not yet received an emergency snow event declaration so cars may remain parked on those routes however moving cars from these routes would help expedite the clean-up efforts. All Salisbury Public Works employees are working and/or on standby as needed for this event.

Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance is prepared for the 5th Annual Santa’s Workshop at their property on the corner of Isabella St. and Church St. this evening at 7:00 p.m.

The sanitary sewer main break on Fitzwater Street has been repaired and the Public Works department has been restoring the trench today. Fitzwater Street is open to traffic at this time.

A small (water) service line break on Eastern Shore Drive is being repaired. Traffic is not affected.

The snow is expected to taper off to flurries by midnight tonight.
