Delaware Republican allegedly used part of $7.3 million on rent, personal expenses
BALTIMORE — Failed U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell said Thursday that accusations she misspent spent campaign funds are politically motivated and stoked by two disgruntled former campaign workers, defending herself a day after the disclosure of a criminal investigation into her spending.
The Delaware Republican appeared on several network morning shows after it was revealed that federal authorities have launched the probe to determine whether she broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses.
"There's been no impermissible use of campaign funds whatsover, O'Donnell told ABC's "Good Morning America."
O'Donnell, the tea party favorite who scored a surprise primary victory this year only to lose badly in the November general election, suggested the accusations were being driven by her political opponents on the right and left, including Vice President Joe Biden.
"You have to look at this whole thug-politic tactic for what it is," she said Thursday.

i look at this two ways:
1. if someone sent her money, its her money. done. no rules about what you can and cant use it for. hell, campaigns should not be about raising money anyway.
2. id still throw her a bone, if ya know what i mean!
Seems to me that the only "thugs" that booted her out of politics were the DE voters.
I'm waiting anxiously for the Palin-O'Donnell 2010 ticket.

I think that this investigation is taking place due to the fact that O'Donnell defeated Mike Castle in the primary election. I also believe that the investigation has ties to the Vice President as he and Castle are pretty tight. What a waste of tax dollars.
I honestly believe that O'Donnell would have done a better job than Coons.
Until Delaware does some work on their election districts, all of the candidates from New Castle county will probably continue to win.
I love EVERYTHING she stood for!!!! They are after her due to the fact, that she was tipping the apple cart!!!! If they are going after her, then they should go after ALL the Politicians!!!!!!

Disgruntled former aides, huh? Maybe you should have made sure their paychecks cleared, Ms. O'Donnell, and they wouldn't be disgruntled!
If the FBI is involved, which they are, she has a serious problem.......the paper trail she left will determine her guilt or innocence.
The good ole boys just want to punish her and use it as a warning to all others who might try to buck the system.
If she did nothing wrong she has nothing to worry about. Her past money issues, I'm sure, raised a red flag for many who have been watching her very closely. If people are going to run for office, they should be squeaky clean. In this environment you'll get away with nothing.
This is always the Republican excuse that someone is out to get them.
When a republican gets caught they usually take responsibility for it. When a Democrat gets caught they deny it and then get an award from scum bags like them.

Other people agree with you. Castle just won't give up. Christine did a great job getting him out of office. The D machine still prevails though in DE and needs to be dealt with again in 2012 before they destroy DE as they did to MD.
The old guard Democrats and Republicans are going to fall like domino's in the coming 2012 Presidentual election because The Tea Party will be running many representatives in both parties primaries, as they're able to come up with. Just like O'Donnell they'll remove people like Castle, every time removing one more old guard politician. The ones that end up as Senators and Congressmen on either side of the aisle will be in harmony on their Tea Party mandate. Ultra conservative politics are coming. Waste, mis-management, welfare and that eternal Democratic Free Ride will be over for good. The Democrats and the Republicans know it's true, this last budget that had to be rewritten was the result of just a small group of determined Tea Party representatives. We are a ground swell of fed up with politics as usual working class Americans and we have no intention of being stopped or slowed down. We're millions strong and growing and pretty soon we'll have the numbers elected to Congress and the House to get the job done. The black liberal Democrat vote in New Castle Delaware was the only county that O'Donnell didn't win. She took Sussex and Kent but the black vote in New Castle did her in as expected. Common sense tells anyone that voters didn't vote for someone dumb, or a witch, or a crook stealing past campaign finances. Those that think this have apparently never listened to her debate with Coons, nor any of her campaign speechs, they just assumed that the sound bites the liberal media presented, told the truth about her, when the opposite is actually true. She's smart, articulate and honest as this upcoming campaign misuse investigation will prove in the end. It's created by and driven by those with ties to billionaire George Soros who created Obama and pulled the right strings to make him President. His goal is money, destruction of a country that he can buy. You Democrats paved his way and continue to do so. Your elected Democratic Politicians in Washington D,C, that I consider the real criminals are squandering, throwing money in every direction, trillions more every few months, the politicians holding court today. How would you like this gang of thieves to control and spend your personal hard earned money every day month after month? Guess what, it is your money, not theirs, and your childrens yet unearned tax dollars, and their childrens unearned tax dollars. They're throwing it away hand over fist, tax money that won't even exist for decades to come. There's just to many straight down the party line diehards in this country that never open their minds to the possibility of change. The morning that the crash happens and you wake up and find your country can no longer print money, and your banks were closed overnight and you cannot get gas or food because nothing is moving in this country because nobody in the world wants that worthless American dollar. I wonder if even then, as you face being destitude, will you then realize the foolish choices you made. I think not, because it's clear as a bell right now that the entrenched diehards of either party have no intention of changing anything. It's coming, even George Soros says we've not even come close to seeing the bottom of this economy. The only hope for reversal rests solely on the shoulders of ultra conservative thinking Americans.
