Md. Inmates Handle SSNs, Other Private Data
Maryland officials for the last seven years have used inmates to process Social Security numbers and other personal information from low-income residents receiving medical benefits, a state audit revealed.
IMMEDIATELY begin an investigation into ALL of their work...how many of the those low-income residents have friends or family in prison? Sounds like one of the stupidest ideas I've seen in a long time. Giving criminals access to SSN info?? I suppose slave labor saves the taxpayer money. In the short run. Oh yeah --- FIRE every official involved in setting this scam up.
