The Senate failed to pass a repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) policy on Thursday. The 57-40 vote stopped just short of the 60 necessary to lift the ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) was the only member of the GOP to vote in favor of a DADT repeal, with Sens. Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) backing away from their initial support of the measure. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia was one of a minority of Democrats voting no on the repeal.

No one cares about this issue. There are more important things to worry about.
Thankfully, we still have second class citizens to look down and make us feel superior.
Now that we're done throwing the gays into the mix, can we get back to work on putting all Americans (gay or straight) back to work.
I miss the days when a simple majority could actually pass a bill, instead of having to have a super majority that used to generally be reserved for voting only on certain things. If the GOP would actually vote on anything other than being the party of NO, and filibustering everything, at least something would be getting done. If they didn't like what got done and the American people didn't like what was done than after the next election the GOP could just change it back, like they had to do in the past. The main reason that the GOP made such gains in November was that even with a majority the Dems were unable to get even the most basic things done because they were blocked at every opportunity, and people felt that they had not accomplished anything.
The GOP made it clear they wouldn't support any bill until the tax issue is resolved but Democrats choose to try and pass a bill knowing it would fail proving they didn't support it in the first place.
i say yes, repeal DADT. then vote on a question on the application if youre gay, then ban of all gays from even applying.
It's a proven fact that gays are emotionally compromised.

homosexuality was considered to be a mental disorder under the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) until the early 1970s. At which time the "progressive" european psychiatric community ditched it as such. Soon after that, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) followed suit. Some say it should be re-cataloged back into the DSM
11:43 You would have to go back to the 70's for the critiqued findings but since then the progressive movement has outlawed publishing of any finding that would leave gays in a less the normal light. It's all part of the dismantling of America. You should do your own leg work and stop relying on others to show you proof. No matter what you are shown will not matter because your mind is made up prior to any proof therefore you are biased and a waste of time...kook.
