Best Buy Puts An End To Tyrannical Restocking Fees

For years, Best Buy customers have complained about the 15% restocking fee on most electronics (10% on iPhones). So in the spirit of the holidays (and because they are afraid of losing anymore customers than they already have), Best Buy has very quietly announced that as of today, almost all restocking fees are no more.

and because the policy was on the back of the receipt... after you paid for the item. thats Illegal, you need to be imformed before you pay for the item.

So now people will buy stuff, use if for 13 days, then try to return it for full refund and totally work the system. It will happen.

what is wrong with a restocking fee since they have ususally already ordered the "restock" before you returned the item

5:49, Unfortunately, yes. You shouldn't expect to buy any product from any store, take it home and open it and use it, return it later for full refund, and then the store have to take a hit by reselling it at a lower price. If you return something unopened, with everything 100% intact there is no restocking fee.
