Royal Farms Murder In Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - There have been two murders in just two days and Salisbury Police have their hands tied--- but they have made some breaking discoveries on the murder of a Salisbury man. Police say it all started when a mob of people crowded outside this Royal Farms around 3 A.M. on Sunday. They say a fight broke out between two men, and ended with gun shots.

That's where 20-year-old Devan Walls was killed. "There was some indication from witnesses that these two gentlemen did know each other, they've had altercations in the past and there was an altercation prior to the shooting," said Salisbury Lieutenant Rob Kemp.

Police say the man responsible is 26-year-old Walik Evans. He allegedly dropped the gun at the scene and then fled in his car. Officials say after shots were fired they chased the suspect to Pemberton Apartments where he was captured.

Salisbury is getting dangerous! I grew up in Salisbury, my mom was born here and it was never like this back in the day! Seems like the more people who move here, the more dangerous it gets! The police really have their hands full.

The Channel 47 news story says, near the end, that businesses are locking their doors at 2 a.m. The company I work for keeps the door locked most of the time these days, except during our exceptionally busy days or when there are a lot of employees there. This time of year, there's usually just one or two people there, and the doors are locked because of bad stuff happening in our neighborhood ... and we're not in what I'd consider a "bad neighborhood."

But it seems like everywhere in Salisbury is becoming a bad neighborhood.

Which Royal Farms did this occur at?

Before I go out to pick-up my weekend Pizza at Ledos I always try and put on my Snake-Plissken eye patch and wig.

I've joked about it on this blog before - but it is not a joke anymore. Maybe now people will understand when I refer to that location as CRACK ROYAL.

Salisbury is - beyond a shadow of a doubt - the crime capital of Maryland. Crime has now replaced all of the fleeing businesses.

I'm betting the other murder on the westside was a case of "knew each other" too.

Pemberton Apartments were a problem not long ago, too. The landlords can kiss my grits about the their profit-making holes.

And the police are furloughed for crying out loud! We get this hot program with the state and officials like Louise Smith won't get off the dime to stop furloughs for police. She'd rather the money go to PAC14 to support her useless show.

It makes me ANGRY! People can say, oh good the thugs are killing each other, but what happens when it's you or me coming out of a store that takes the bullet?

Time to support our police and clean out where these thugs are. No more!

Hey, Joe, since you linked to WMDT, I thought you might not mind a link to the motorcycle murder story too:

This is the first time I ever saw mention of a witness relocation fund. Sure hope it gets used.

It's time for some folks to drop their No Snitching bull and get this chaos stopped.

To add to the rentals comment-subsidized housing. It's just another in a long list of problems created by guess who-the gubment.

Keep paying the police the same, providing the same lousy benefits, the same poor vehicles, the same lack of moral. Then you will get the same results. So simple to figure out, but this city will not get it.

Let the sheriff's office take over the city

Which Royal Farms?

It makes me so sad that this is all happening here. My family here is quite a few generations old and I just can't believe how fast everything has changed. I'm just guessing, but I'd say crime started getting bad about 10 or 8 years ago. There was crime and murder but not nearly as much and much of it less violent than it is now. It's all just crazy.

You know 9:31pm I am so sick of hearing people use RENTALS! as an excuse for the crime in salisbury..I happen to be 53, single and I am a renter...I rent because i can't afford to buy. Thanks to a divorce I am on my own and buying a home just wasn't feasible..financially or in the upkeep of a home...So all crimes in salisbury are not due to renters...so back off those of us that are not fortunate enough to own a home and find the real reasons so many people are being murdered in our city...by the way do u rent or own?

Walik Evans is a career criminal. He hasn't been out of ECI for that long. WOW, 26 years old and now he has a murder charge! Salisbury is getting unreal!! Time for SPD and the mayor to do some serious overhauling. These gangsta's and want to be gandsta's are taking it to another level when they are killing people. What happened to fighting with your fists and may the best man win?

Must've been some of those poor unfortunate thugs who are someone's son, brother, dad, etc. that the libs were defending on here last week, uh? Face the facts folks, the same people from the same areas are committing these crimes, quit trying to be so damn politically correct and not admitting the truth!! This is nothing more than wild animals doing what they do!!

Anonymous said...

I say the mayor should revoke All licenses for 7-11s and Royal Farm Stores. This is where the crimes are happening. Im just kidding mayor!!!! Just like my rentals, these stores have no control over crime. YOU DO!!! Hire more than 4 police officers.

well i know walik and, believe me...he's going to snitch even if he did do it, he will try to bring someone else in it just because, he doesnt want to get life. Walik in the year in a half i knew him at popular hill was a muselm which isnt my religion but, its a shame because in prison you have about 10% that are true muselms walik, lol, would pray then ten seconds later is a gangster. He has a loving family too, terrible. Do you feel cool or hard NOW? Get your protection with the muselms but, you shouldnt disrespect their religion just cause, the inmates at eci which are still there no your a snitch. Salisbury is alittle safer now OH... and you all are saying he just got out and, hes done this before. Ive done ten years of my life in prison because i had a drug problem and, stole something worth more then five hundred dollars, lol and, did almost double the time then walik got for shooting that guy back in 2001 or whenever, goes to show you the difference between a public defender and, a paid lawyer. Great Honest USA yea right.

Still no one can figure out why Salisbury has gotten so much worse so fast? Am I really the only one who sees why? Here's your answer..... ECI in Princess Anne is mostly an overflow prison for Baltimore. Its fairly simple. Say someone in Baltimore gets sentenced to 10 yrs. They most likely will be sent here because it's the biggest prison in MD. So they come here, join a gang, live 10 yrs of their life there with what is now their new family and friends. Baltimore is not the same as it was when they went in, and probably most of their old friends have forgotten them. So why go back home when they have this new loving family of gang members right here? Well they don't. They get released usually as even more of a criminal then they were before, and they just stay here. Once that's been happening for the past 10 yrs, that's a lot of criminals being released everyday, that weren't here before. It's simple math. Take the small City of Salisbury, and add 10,000 new criminals to the population, and that's what we have now. Thank you Baltimore prisons for hand delivering us this bullshit
