FIRST LADY KATIE O’MALLEY TO DELIVER REMARKS AT NATIONAL NETWORK TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ANNUAL CONFERENCE

ANNAPOLIS, MD
– First Lady Katie O’Malley today will address participants of the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s Annual Convention which is being held at the Renaissance Harbor Hotel in Baltimore. The NNEDV is convening national experts from state and federal agencies to discuss ways states can solve problems with regard to enforcing firearms state and federal firearms laws.

Topics for the two day conference include:

which federal firearms laws apply in domestic violence cases and which federal agencies implement and enforce those laws;
how to ensure that the right information is entered into federal databases;
best practices for seizure and storage of firearms;
how to comply with the VAWA certification regarding federal firearms laws; and
how to work with allies in the military and tribes to improve enforcement.
