There were not enough motels here to hold that many and the only one was what used to be the Holiday Inn and another one, now named something else across from Staples. The locals had to put the tennis players up in their homes. There were parties all over town every night someone was entertaining them. Lots of camaraderie among everyone.
What a nice piece of architecture that was. It had character, unlike the generic box that was built in it's place. I remember seeing the smoke from the fire the day it burnt down all the way from Northwood Dr.
