So the same rednecks who are scared that Obama is a Socialist Nazi Freedom-hater, and believe that he is working hard day and night to take away our freedoms, have absolutely no problem with a law that is based on color of skin and "suspiscion" and will require god-fearing, legal Americans to "show their papers" and prove they are American?

Or are you supporting it because, on all honesty, white people will not be stopped and asked to prove anything, since we know white Americans are the only real ones. Just ask Tim McVeigh.

Do you guys all eat out of both sides of your mouth too?

Karl Rove thinks its a bad idea. W probably does too. They worked very hard to establish GOP credibility within the Hispanic population, and a large percentage of that demographic voted for him for re-election.

If the GOP is willing to give up all that work, then fine.

tedh said...

Yes and it is proving to be working already. I just don't understand what people don't understand about illegal.

Yes - I totally support enforcement of all laws.

Hahaha, i think the answers to this question show exactly who your readers are. Hahaha, what a joke. Too much power from Obama, but when they want to much power it is fine. The main problem with your party and why it will never get anywhere.

LMFAO, you wet pants liberal idiots are in the minority now. Get a life you Obama lover. Better yet move to Mexico or Kenya!!

Oh, btw my answer is yes in case you missed it!

Anonymous said...

Yes - illegal is illegal. There is a process to come into this country legally. Follow the process. If I wanted to go to another country I would have to follow THEIR process. All is fair in love and paperwork. And by the way I am as white as they come and I have been stopped and asked for id. If your not doing anything wrong - it's not a problem.

Anonymous said...

YES and it's time for Maryland to draft the same legislation.

Anonymous said...

HELL YES !

Anonymous said...

Yes. When are we going to figure out that laws should be written in support of the majority?!!

Alex said...

12:15 we're in the minority in this forum, you're correct. However, if you note that no one except right wing radicals supports this law. I guarantee you that if this law is not overturned in Federal Courts, it will not be enforced.
Calling us wet pants liberals only validates your sheep-like attitude. You're a great follower and should be rewarded.

Anonymous said...

not just yes but HELL YES!

Anonymous said...

Yes. It is about time. Just go to another country and see how you are treated Especially Mexico.

Anonymous said...

12:15 we're in the minority in this forum, you're correct. However, if you note that no one except right wing radicals supports this law.

Shows how wrong you are. I am not a right wing radical. I am an independent voter. I support this law.

It seems to me here lately it is the democrats calling people names and putting people in whatever catagory they think they should be in if they don't agree with them on an issue. This is not a race issue. I don't have a problem with anyone, any race being here legally and pulling their own weight.

Keep it up democrats you are loosing the independent voters with your BS.

tedh said...

Alex,
I have been asked for my fishing license and driver license many of times of which I produce without any issue. Those documents also prove that I am a citizen and if can't produce them I will get a fine. What is the difference asking for documentation? The law reads that they have to have a reason to think they are here illegal. Like I said what part if ILLEGAL don't you understand. Hey if you come here legally I have no issue at all.

Anonymous said...

Alex;

According to polls 70% of Arizonans' support the new law and in a just released poll 70% of all Americans now support it. So maybe it is you and the rest (30%) that are the radicals.
If the federal govt' would do their job Arizona would not have to pass a law like this.
I know you libs either don't know or don't want to know, but the law specifically states that the suspect has to be stopped for another violation before their immigration status can be questioned.

Anonymous said...

tedh,

And what part of have a reason to think they are illegal does not point directly to profiling. So because they speak spanish, profiling. Because they are doing menial labor, profiling. This law is based on profiling no matter how you look at it. It is illegal and the right wings support of it shows how little they know about the law. Yes you were asked to show a fishing license because you were fishing. Has anyone ever asked you for your license walking through the mall. Same goes for your drivers license, your talking points hold no water.

Anonymous said...

ABSOLUTELY! IF YOUR ILLEGAL, YOU DON'T BELONG HERE FOR MANY REASONS. WE HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS IN THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH ISSUES LIKE THIS. ABIDE BY OUR LAWS OR LEAVE OUR COUNTRY!

Anonymous said...

11:19 and others like this poster:
The illegals created this problem themselves!
If they are not here ILLEGALLY, then they'll be fine with it!
However, if they are NOT here LEGALLY, of course they WILL have a problem with it!
So now you're gonna say that we shouldn't run checks on ALL criminals? That's what these people are, CRIMINALS!!
Maybe you're here ILLEGALLY if you're so set on defending them!?

Anonymous said...

They passed a law to enforce the law already on the books .If we allow anarchy none of us will have freedom .

Anonymous said...

I'm a Democrat and I support the Legislation 100%.

Anonymous said...

YES all the way. ILLEGAL is illegal. They are not "undocumented workers", they are ILLEGAL aliens. PC correctness is destroying this country.

Anonymous said...

1:10,

Please prove any part of a poll that 70% of Americans support this law that is actually from a reputable source. Anything to make yourself sound better, I humbly wait for your amazing response.

Anonymous said...

For those that compare Obama to Hitler and the Nazis. Is this law any different than Hitlers law that Jews had to carry their papers with them at all times and were subject to routine inspections at the suspicion of being Jewish? Please feel free to make me feel any different hypocrites.

the United States was based on an English speaking country
If you come into our country you should speak the language
No special exceptions were made when my parents came over "the right way" they had to make their way on their own and learn the language to the best of their ability
There was no one to help my brother in grade school when he had difficulty learning the language - there were no tutors that spoke our language
When you go to Europe it goes unspoken that you learn what you need to get by with their language
Its common courtesy
We are a big hearted country - but enough is enough - we need to give to our own - the ones that are here legally.
Ask me anytime for I.D. - I was born here, raised here and proud to be an American - I'll show that anytime I'm asked
Illegals are just that Illegal

Anonymous said...

If Bush is against it, I'm all for it!

Anonymous said...

70% of people in Arizona support it.

Anonymous said...

It is real simple, person must carry identification, if they are not a u.s. citizen, then they must carry documentation stating they are here legally. In my job, when it is determined someone was not born in the united states that person must bring me documentation stating they are in the u.s legally. And so it should be ......

I went to DC one weekend for the rare breed dog show and the UN happened to be meeting that weekend as well. As I strolled down the street, minding my own business, I was stopped by a police officer who was looking for someone who fit my description. (Profiling) I was asked to show ID which, I did. And was promptly let go after it was discovered I was not who the police were looking for. I had a good time that day...BTW...I am white.

Get over yourself! I happens all the time. If you are speeding and are caught; you have to produce your "papers." If you don't have them...you could be detained.

That as I understand it is how the law in AZ is supposed to work. Speeding? Get pulled over? No papers....get detained

Anonymous said...

2:20,

Actually the wording of your so called poll is a joke. So the actuality of it is that only 45% of people strongly support letting local police determine the status of a person if there is "reasonable suspicion".

Unauthorized entry into the United States is a Federal Crime. It's a shame that the Feds can't figure that out and that a state has to enforce it.

ive seen people upset over the proof of identification
while doing research i came acros this

TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VII > § 1304
part (e) Personal possession of registration or receipt card; penalties
Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both.

so you already have to carry an id card as a legal alien under federal law.
if anyone that is complaining actually read the arizona law they would know that the officer has to have reasonable suspicion to ask for proof.

here is a link to the law, read it before you object.

7:42,

You are an idiot. No one is that upset about having to carry identification. The main issue is the profiling that is going to take place because of "reasonable suspicion". And not one person on here has actually answered to that question because they can't! Read 1:16s post. Anyone after that actually ever try to disprove it, no!

Anonymous said...

11:03,

obviously you have not read the law

sec 2 states

20 B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS AN ALIEN WHO IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES, A REASONABLE ATTEMPT SHALL BE MADE, WHEN PRACTICABLE, TO DETERMINE THE IMMIGRATION STATUS OF THE PERSON, EXCEPT IF THE DETERMINATION MAY HINDER OR OBSTRUCT AN INVESTIGATION. ANY PERSON WHO IS ARRESTED SHALL HAVE THE PERSON'S IMMIGRATION STATUS DETERMINED BEFORE THE PERSON IS RELEASED. THE PERSON'S IMMIGRATION STATUS SHALL BE VERIFIED WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PURSUANT TO 8 UNITED STATES CODE SECTION 1373(c). A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY,31 CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF IS STATE MAY NOT SOLELY CONSIDER RACE, COLOR OR NATIONAL ORIGIN IN IMPLEMENTING THE REQUIREMENTS OFTHIS SUBSECTION EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE UNITED STATES OR ARIZONA CONSTITUTION.

so you ther emust be a reason for the police to talk to you. speeding? some other crime, which usually asks for an id anyway.

the law does not allow the police to randomly walk up to people to ask if they are legal or not, at least not that i can see in it. if so please educate me by siting the section
so beofer you call people idiots, go read the law. make an iformed decision.

Mark said...

Let's see now; It looks like a duck, It walks like a duck, it quacks like a duck; are we profiling the duck or is it a duck?

Anonymous said...

Mark,

Sounds like racist nonsense. They are humans even if they have a darker skin color, and many of them are here legally. So yes, you are profiling.

Anonymous said...

11:42,

No I have read the law. Why so vague with "lawful contact made by law enforcement official". A police officer passing someone on the street and saying "Good morning" is lawful contact. When they amend the law with the definition of "lawful contact" maybe you will get some more supporters. Until then, this law is a joke.

Anonymous said...

upon the lawfull contact they must still have "REASONABLE SUSPICION"
this is rooted in our law system already, and has been ruled on by many courst systems, including the supreme court.

there is nothing new in this law, it just reinforces the federal law. which is really the unconstitutional one. immigration control is really left to the states, as its not defined in the constitution.

Anonymous said...

Yes I support. And again, the law states that they have to have been stopped for another violation. Not just walking thru the mall, you idiot.

Anonymous said...

2:14,

Wrong again, that is the issue with the law. Tell me where it ways they have to be stopped for another violation. You throw out the word idiot but maybe you should look in the mirror.

Jamie said...

YES!!! I am for the law! I have lived in AZ my whole life and am not prejudice one bit, but to be at the bottom on the list for education and funds are not being paid to the schools for illegal imigrants recieving education, having one of the highest premiums on car insurance because of non insured motorists, and dealing with the coyotes and drug cartells bringing more crime into our state, yes I am for the law! Most people that live in the states that are dealing with the listed problems from illegals and other unlisted problems understand why we say yes. To those of you who have an opinion about what is happening in a state that you do not live in, please find something more productive to do with your time and opinions!
