Back in February we let the Mayor and taxpayers of Salisbury aware of yet another scam deal the Salisbury Fire Department upper management was about to pull on the taxpayers. Management had contracted a local repair shop the job of replacing the engine in the above Crown Victoria for $5,000.00. Now this was a vehicle that is just falling apart and Firefighters were not happy with managements decision to pull such a stunt, especially since the Fire Department is so top heavy with new vehicles at the moment.That being said, my hat is tipped, (once again) to Mayor Ireton for stepping in and pulling this vehicle from the repair shop. The vehicle now sits behind the SFD and its future is unknown at this time.

Now they have a piece of junk, the price of a new car will be far greater than fixing up an old one that would have done the same job and saved the tax payer more money.
Why not let some of these county vehicles be repaired through the Parkside Auto CTE program? I guess that is just too much common sense to ask that.
Guess it won't be sold to an insider in a few months cheap with a new engine.

Maybe, they should have repaired this vehicle, so the fireman could use it to go to foodlion, instead of the BIG FIRETRUCK. Aleast to 2 times a week, three or four firemen ride in the Firetruck to Foodlion to get that nights dinner???
The city should have a surplus of crown vic's anyways im sure the SPD has retired plenty of them in the past few years if the fire dept needs cars for errands and such they should be given the retired police cruisers. But that would make too much sense and save too much money
