Prayer Tent At SU

I'm a Salisbury University student, and I wanted to let you and your congregation know, that only by God's miraculous provision, were we able to set up a 24/7 prayer tent outside on Salisbury University's campus. It started this past monday and will continue till Monday, April 12th at noon.

We are welcoming Christians from the community to come join us in prayer for a couple minutes or a couple hours sometime this next week. The tent is open all day and all night!

We would love to gather with other believers from all different denominations to pray for revival in Salisbury. We are praying for the hearts of the believers to turn back to God in repentance and for the unbelievers to turn to God in large multitudes! If you look at history, you will see that the revivals in America never started in churches, but at prayer meetings or on college campuses. Please come support us in prayer! Who knows what opportunities God will open up!?

The tent is located outside of the Gurrieri building. Parallel park on Dogwood, or on the street next to Asbury Church. Walk around the right side of Gurrieri towards the middle of the campus. You will see the white tent!

I pass it every morning. Not very busy aside from the single person sitting in a chair.

Hey, that's what you send your kids to college for, right?

This sounds like a hoax. Does anyone have any photos?

This is wonderful news, and I am so happy for all involved. However, I am puzzled because I know that Christians are always under asault,(BS) and public prayer is not allowed,(FALSE) and the liberal collage life is devoid of faith.(LIE) I wonder if a similar tent filled with Muslim faithful would be as welcome.

You are to be commended. In this day and age with all the activities and immoral behavior that is taking place, surely this should be an activity that should bring no harm to anyone, and no one should find fault.

It is my prayer that many will join in, for verily, verily I say unto you, many are in need of praying and prayers, including the leaders of our community, state and Country!

Thank you. It is my intention to stop by and participate.

Ecumenical gobbledygook.

Put a drop in poison in a glass of clean water, then take a good swig of it. Go ahead, a little poison won't hurt you.

"And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." 2 Cor 11:14

Ghanima,

As a school district employee, and being gainfully employed by this county for over 20 years, I am please to see that you took the time to invest in your religous freedoms in a positve and peaceful manner. Please disregard those negative comments, and continue to lead on campus. Maybe there will be a large following, but I woudl find it more likely that as folks pass by, they have a few thoughts about God, and maybe they get a little prayer in too. Either way, awareness has been aschieved, and that is always the first step.

to 8:05 yes, I am sure a muslin faith tent would be welcome. In fact-our school systems are encouraged to teach muslin faith and culture. Your just not allowed to teach christain faith and culture.

There have been Christian ministries on campus for years. Not necessarily evangelical Christians, but ministries to youth. The Catholic Church has a student ministries on College Avenue.

There's enough superstition on campus. Why have a tentful?
