Single Vehicle Crash Claims Life Of Maryland Man

Location: Still Road, half mile west of Mahan Corner Road and 2 miles north of Sandtown, DE

Date of Occurrence: Thursday, 3/18/10 at approximately 11:20 pm

Operator: Jason Ray Eyster, 28 years old, of Henderson, MD

Vehicle: 1998 Ford F150 Pickup

Resume: The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene of the single vehicle crash which took the life of Jason Ray Eyster, 28, of Henderson, MD.

The Ford pickup, operated by Eyster, was eastbound on Still Road when it traveled off the south edge of the roadway. The truck returned to the main portion of the roadway, crossing both lanes of travel, before exiting on the north side of the roadway into a wooded area. Upon striking several trees, the vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its top.

During this collision Eyster, who was the lone occupant, was not properly restrained in a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

It is unknown if alcohol is involved and this collision is still under investigation.

Still Road was closed for approximately 2 hours.
