CHICAGO: The following statement was released today by GOP Nominee Isaac Hayes following the signing of health care reform by President Obama.
Yesterday, President Obama signed the highly contested health care bill into law. However, most Americans are not celebrating. The President attributes the country’s anger to the “sausage making process,” but Isaac Hayes, GOP nominee for Illinois 2nd Congressional district, believes resentments about the bill run far deeper.
“Everything about this process has left a bad taste in the mouths of the American people” said Hayes. “The backroom deals, the there are no rules committees, the abandoning of unborn life, and the secret meetings with Big Pharma and Big Insurance.”
According to Hayes, this is “the second time the people’s voices have been ignored”, referring to the bank bailout as the first. He goes on to say that the bill amounts to nothing more than a “bailout of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.”
