The National Weather Service seems to be avoiding the subject of Ice, but if you will look at the Accuweather forecast, and note the temps involved, and consider that the ground is snow-covered, we need to be ready for FREEZING RAIN.

As always, the storm track is everything-- though it looks like we will escape the heavy snow, be ready for the possibility of trees and power lines icing up, and maybe some long power outages, especially since they're still trying to get things fixed from the last storm.
Rain on top of the snow will give us more heavy, frozen slush to deal with, too-- watch the roof loading. If it warms up enough Tuesday, it would be wise to get the big drifts off the rooftops if possible.
The good news: only about 40 more days till spring.. :-)

These guys have been solid in their predictions this winter, and Accuweather has been low.
The lower air temp doesn't matter a whole lot this time. If it makes it to the ground as snow, it WILL stay snow since the snow is already frozen.

We really don't need anymore snow. The city has plowed Westchester St once since the Jan. 3 storm and hasn't even been back since then. It was left unplowed after last Tuesday's storm and not even touched after this weekend. What do we pay taxes for. What really gets me is that Tennyson Ct a cul-de-sac off of the beaten track is plowed curb to curb because it has been designated a snow emergency route. Why is a dead end getting such preferential treatment?
Can we get to the bottom of why no residential street in the Camden area has been plowed? Smith St is absolutely terrible, I picked up three pieces of car under-bits out of the road from Ohio (the ta-bogon tracks are unreal - a solid pack of ice in the middle). Winder, Hazel, Maryland - none of these streets have seen a plow nor did they the last storm. I understand people park on these streets, but I've seen some equipment around (there's a snow blower they use in the downtown area or a pick-up truck with a small plow on the front) that could help us out.
Yes, the priority is the main roads, but even a quick pass would do wonders for the streets in this area (and wonders for the morale of the people who live there). There hasn't been any salt on these side streets. People are going out and shoveling the street themselves in some places, but it can't even make a dent. Now with more ice and snow coming it's going to be even worse.
Is there someone we can call to get help with the streets in this area, even if we have to wait until after this next round?
Ok folks. Just make plans for you kids to be home all week. Don't wait for the posting on WBOC. Do it now and if you get lucky and can send our kids, it is a bonus!
