HEBRON’S SPECIAL ZONING ATTORNEY TO PRESENT LECTURE

An upcoming seminar will include a discussion of “Strategies for Local Governments,” in which the “Eastern Shore perspective” will be presented by the attorney who advised and represented the Town of Hebron in its “Waller Landing” rezoning fiasco that was recently struck down by the Wicomico County Circuit because of the mistakes made by the Town in the matter. Apparently the attorney, Anthony Gorski, is also advising the Town on legal aspects of its sewer and water system, in which it has encountered substantial concerns raised by Wicomico County and State of Maryland according to news reports, and other land use issues. The regular Town Attorney is Steven Cox.

As reported on this blog last summer (June 23, 2009) a federal judge in Baltimore recently slapped Mr. Gorski with a $10,000 sanction for filing frivolous appeals. The Town of Hebron is now considering whether to file an appeal from the ruling on the Town’s rezoning errors that the judge pointed out in his opinion.

Is “Tony” Gorski the proper person to be lecturing others or counseling the Town of Hebron regarding an appeal that involves a situation that he helped to create while charging substantial fees for his services? And how much more will be charged for an appeal? If you live in Salisbury, does this have a familiar ring?

If you want to attend the seminar mentioned above you will need $995 for the full tuition, but there are better deals for certain persons. For details use this link: http://www.lawseminars.com/detail.php?SeminarCode=10CLMD

Because of the Hebron election this year, it may be appealled to keep it alive until then, but the zoning was defective, even though they were warned about the problems many times.

Maybe we can get some new faces on the Town board, but not many people will jump into the mess that the current ones have made.

Joe:

How much have they already paid that guy Gorski -- more than Wilber got for the Salisbury Mall mess?

I see that the Waller Landing developer from Wilmington ("Jamie Rostocki) is now trying to con Delmar into letting him build a casino

If this jacka$$ knew anything about the "eastern shore perspective" he'd know we're not going to pay a grand to sit through a lecture. Looks like a money grab to me.

Hebron taxpayers, heads up!! How many times over the past three years has Hebron screwed up (soooo many times)on small issues and big ones. They just cannot get things right, even with two attorneys and two other consultants. Unless we taxpayers demand a clean sweep of all, things will continue.

The two currently sitting on the Commissionres and who are running for re-election should be thrown out--they voted for Waller Landing and none of the elected officials have asked in-depth questions on actions Hebron has taken. These officials have a duty to be asking questions and they don't. One of them sits totally silent meeting after meeting.

Same thing on Planning--officials act afraid of the leader. No courage whatsoever to ask questions or express any adverse opinion.

Hebron officials should get smart (even if it's really late to do so) and get new consultants and elect new leaders. Hebron is easy pickins' for developers because the town officials are so clueless and refuse to ask questions.
