Unruly Bar Patron Injures Trooper

Location: Buffalo Wild Wings, 2062 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at 6:07 p.m.

Suspect(s): Jennifer Holmwood, 26, of Wilmington, Delaware

Resume: At about 6:00 p.m. last evening, State Police dispatch, RECOM, received a call for service from Buffalo Wild Wings on Limestone Road requesting Troopers respond to help remove an intoxicated female who was being unruly with the staff.

Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the subject in question- Jennifer Holmwood. She was using profanity and being disorderly. Officers initially tried to have Holmwood leave peacefully, however, she became irate.

A Trooper started to simply escort Holmwood out of the business and she slapped his hand away from her. He then attempted to take Jennifer into custody and she started to violently resist. The Trooper and Holmwood fell to the ground and during the struggle both were injured.

The Trooper was treated at Christiana Hospital for injuries to his writs. Holmwood was treated at Christiana Hospital for a contusion to her face.

Ms. Holmwood was eventually transported back to Troop 6 for processing. She was formally charged with Felony Resisting Arrest, Felony Assault on a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. She was arraigned and released on a $2,200.00 unsecured bond.
