So sad, but so glad for his family to finally have some closure. They (friends & family) were out all day yesterday searching. R.I.P Brian

There is chatter by experienced sportsman that Wagner should *not* have been out there that day for anything remotely related to a legitimate sporting activity.

I'm not an experienced outdoorsman so I have no idea if there is any merit to this claim.

Lord watch over his family in this time of grief!

The reports of Brian being found this morning are accurate. This was confirmed from the family.
God answered prayers for this weather to break.....

Thank God for this family & all of Brians' friends and anyone that has prayed and or helped in any way. So tragic but Thank God Brian can now rest in peace.

Prayers to all of you.

The body of a 37-year-old missing boater and former Salisbury business owner was found Friday morning , according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police

Hunters discovered the body of Brian Wagner around 9 a.m. about a half mile south of Wenona harbor in an area known as Beach Point, according to police.
"His body was found in the ice," said Sgt. Art Windemuth, a NRP spokesman.

NRP recovered the body within a short amount of time after Wagner was located and the investigation into the boating accident is continuing, according to police.

Wagner's body is being transported to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore, according to police.

Wagner fell from his 32-foot boat on Jan. 4, in Tangier Sound off the coast of Deal Island, as he and another man were moving it from Wenona to a boat yard in Chance.

The other man onboard, Danny Benton of Wenona, was unsuccessful in retieving Wagner and called for help around 6:20 p.m.

3:27...boy do I agree. 12:18's post is just pure insensitive conjecture at a time when a family has lost it's father , husband ..son....what the hell do some people here think when they post???

12:18, we've endured 11 days of hell. You're right. You're not an experienced outdoorsman. Obviously you aren't very experienced at politeness or sensitivity either. At a time like this, if you can't say something nice, shut the blank up.

3:27..thank you..you said exactly what I was thinking. What a moron.

Joe, this isn't the place. Please have some respect. I am a fan, but leave this to the media.

12:18...."chatter from experienced sportsmen"...lololol...LMAO....how long did it take for you to conjure up that post??? Do you NOT see a tragedy here and a family/community in mourning? Are you for real??

My husband is very relieved that Brians body has been found for his Aunt Jo and Uncle Jack and his cousin Missy, and Nicole, and the kids.

Actually, I have wondered why Brian was out in that weather, too. I'd guess Wenona harbor was freezing up and they needed to move the boat to keep it from getting damaged.
I worked for Brian and his dad for a while, and he was a get-it-done guy. An exceptional person.
When I heard about the tragedy, I was heartsick.
We are praying for Brian's wife and kids, for Jack and Missy and all the family.

To 12:18 -

Supposedly Brian Wagner was trying to sell the boat and was demonstrating it for another interested captain when the steering went wonky. All the stuff had been cleared of the boat and that's wny there was no life jackets.

When Brian tried to see what was going on with the steering he slipped and fell overboard. The other captain threw a set of floating stairs (or something) to him but could not control the boat to get near him because the steering was shot. Supposedly this happened only a few hundred yards off shore.

Brian Wagner was a great man. He took such good care of me whenever I went to Chesapeake Golf and because of his enthusiasm, I got back in the game again. He was someone I was completely proud to call my friend. I feel absolutly sick for his wife and children but I truly believe God will take care of them.

He is in better hands now. Rest In Peace, Friend.

Let the truth be known so that no one else will be sensly lost like this. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE GONE OUT IN THAT KIND OF WEATHER. Should the truth not be said so others will be lost. NO one should go out in this weather especially experienced watermen. OH GOD thy sea is so great and we (and our vessels) are so small. May God give Brian peace and help his family to go on in this life.
