Revolution Billboard In Missouri

AMERICANS ARE REACHING THE BOILING POINT

American's have got to be getting the message that their children's and grandchildren's futures are being mortgage so the Left can achieve its dream of an highly socialist society.

Every highly socialist society is reactionary, not progressive, once achieved, as people do not want to give up benefits they believe entitled to even if it becomes obvious that those entitlements are unsustainable. That will eventually lead to economic decline as people who are heavily taxed, i.e., those who actually produce the Nation's wealth, will either stop working hard and stop taking investment risk or they will leave the country.

That people are, in fact, leaving the country is evidenced by a recent change in U.S. tax law. In the past, if you turned in your citizenship you had to pay tax on all income and capital gains to the date of leaving. After that you were no longer taxed.

A recent change now allows the IRS to levy U.S. taxes for an additional ten years on former Americans, if, at the time you gave up your citizenship, you had current income of $100,000 per annum and total assets of $500,000. You are presumed to be leaving to avoid taxes.

All your rights of citizenship are taken away from you -- the right to vote, the right to social security that you into, etc. -- but you still are taxed. When I learned about this I was amazed and checked it out. It's true but a tax attorney says that the U.S. has a difficult time enforcing the change. What it does mean is that you cannot return to the U.S. to visit family and friends, as you will be arrested at the port of entry. (Wonder if the U.S. would ever follow up on this threat. Seems that it is unconstitutional, but who knows.)

What kind of a country have we become? Remember "No taxation without representation." What about innocent until proven guilty.

What this change means is that the number of people leaving the country and turning in their citizenship must be reaching levels that are of concern for our national well being. It's not only the really the rich who are leaving, as attested by the low income and asset thresholds. It's the well educated, moderately well off with a bright future who see the handwriting on the wall. The country is spending itself into eventual poverty.

What is different today than in the past, in addition to a very Left social progressive administration and government, is the world now offers many alternate opportunities for bright, young, well educated and ambitious professionals where living standards will shortly be be almost equal those in the U.S., and, as the U.S. eventually becomes poorer, maybe even better.

Maybe the trend is now unstoppable but at least there are some who will not allow it to happen without a fight.

Despite the screaming loud message that Massachusetts voters sent to the Democrats yesterday, they still don't seem to get it.

Pelosi said "we hear you and we're moving forward"

Obama, showing how out of touch he is with America said that the same anger that got Brown elected is what swept him (Obama) in.

No, Obama, the anger expressed in Massachusetts is direct AT you!
Wake up and smell the coffee Obama!

Hyperbole, smoke & mirrors, an illusion...you could call it a lot of things but a revolution?? I think not. I prefer to call it spoiled brat.

I disagree. I don't think the anger is directed at Obama as much as it is directed at ALL members of Congress.
Remember, it's Congress that has created a lot of our situation, not the President.
Has he done everything "right"? Hell no but what has Congress done good for this country in the last, say 15 YEARS???
THAT is the question that nobody seems to be able to answer!
I don't care who has been the sitting President, Congress with their "lifetime" seats has become an out of control spending machine!
Not just the Democrats either, the Republicans too!
They ALL are part of the spending machine!
It makes me sick!

Exactly right, 9:48.
There are a few (like Mike Pence and other RSC members) that are good people, but sadly they're greatly outnumbered and sidelined by the corrupt ones on BOTH sides.
2010 is a great time to start the process of cleaning up this mess.

Where were these people when Bush and his pals were ripping all of us off? Unify

2:00 they were still asleep. They sleep no more. The 2nd American Revolution is upon us. If representatives from both parties aren't replaced this term with people who will move this country back to the constitution war will likely ensue. Your right about one thing. Unify. That's what we're doing.

Long live the resistance!

This post-Obama election violent hysteria is insane. Seriously people- from where the rest of society stands, it looks like you are just taking issue with the fact that we (the majority) elected a young, very well educated, successful black man to lead our country out of the mess that W'Bush dug us into. I for one cant wait to vote for Obama him again since he clearly has a lot left to do.

And lets be clear- "A.R.M." is a haven for the MOST extreme on the far right... No place for rational thought or even a loose grip on reality. You cant deny that this recent surge in the "militia movement" isn't significantly more racially motivated then the last time we saw this in the 90's. That becomes horrifyingly clear just lurking on ARM's chat room for some amusement.

I'm horrified to imagine how your misguided negativity will end, I just hope it wont end in violence or the loss of innocent lives. So far its just grown men playing "guns" in the woods... lets hope it ends that way. Please, we don't need another Waco Texas.
