Why has a memorial sight already been created? It is a wonderful sentiment, but there has been no body found. No body means no declared death. There is still hope to be had. A memorial and an education fund seems so negative at this point. Miracles do happen.

Are you two serious???? The temps drop into the single digits during the evening and you really think he is alive??? It's not like he is lost on the other side of the world with no phone.IF he was able to swim to shore he would have been home the same night. It's not hard for a swift current to re-locate a body several miles away. Please think before you type next time.

I agree to all of these. The other person on the boat tryed to save him but lost sight of him, meaning what ? I do believe he went very quickly with the frigid temps. But maybe a memorial after the funeral or when he is located would be better. God bless his children ,wife, family and friends.
A memorial is entirely appropriate. Those wanting to wait until his body is located to confirm his death are being utterly absurd. Given the circumstances of this death his body may never be found.
I am starting to see funds being opened very fast now. The death of Sarah, how many funds were open? This guy hasnt been found. So what if he does show up alive or was just hiding. Got to stop and think there are people who do stuff like this just becasue.
Yes, it seems memorials and funds are being opened very quickly now. Not that every death isn't tragic, but if we abuse the charity of people, the truly tragic deaths, such as Sarah Foxwell, will loose out in the long run, as we become more and more desensitized to the overuse of memorials and funds. I would have liked to see a body have been found before a memorial was created here. As a wife and expecting mother, I would be appalled at a memorial after only two days. No one is going to tell me after two days to stop hoping, all is lost, that my son's father will never be coming home. At least give the family a week to hope and grieve.

Exactly emo. This was a best bud to many of us and a guy who you could be very proud to have as a friend. His love for his family and his friends is well known amongst us locals and any negative here to read is just quite disgusting.
