The good news is no one was there ! They're all over here !

What an insensitive comment, 6:04.
A 7.0, especially in a poverty-stricken place like Haiti is a major disaster.
The immigration problem is one thing (and I don't like it, either), but let's get real here.
This is no time for snide remarks.

Oh great 6:22 another over emotional sniveling liberal ! lighten up .

Joe, way to get the scoop on reporting this hannis disaster!!

I agree with 6:04. It's time to end bleeding heart liberals.....

6:04 What a jerk you are! I have family who are missionaries in Haiti and whom we haven't been able to reach to see if they are ok. Why don't you think before you make stupid remarks!

Anyone who celebrates a disaster happening to innocent people is a jackass.

A person doesn't have to be a bleeding heart liberal to recognize 6:04 and 6:28 are jackasses.

You know, it's a shame we have to put up with such childish stuff with JT/JR, et al playing these comment games-- If you don't like what you see here, why do you read it? Just so you have a place to go and spew your misery?
Why don't you guys get some help.

6:04 is probably a dumb redneck who's never been outside of Delmarva.

6:04, I wonder if you have even thought about all those patients in the hospital that collapsed. I thought we had great people on the Shore! Obiviously, I think you fall a tad bit shy of one.

7:38: So right you are. I am not a "bleeding-heart liberal" (I am a very active Republican), but I work with some Haitians in an educational setting. What wonderful people they are! They came to America for a much better life and are eager to learn English to become assimilated with our culture. How can anyone make a comment like that of 6:04 and those who support him/her?

If that's the Brumleys, let us know when they are heard from.

I find nothing wrong with what 6:04 said. He didn't wish anybody harm, he simply made a comment that reflects how a lot of people are feeling about immigration these days. Stop being oversensitive. Not everyone is so eager to be so politically correct, and if you are so easily offended by what somebody else might say, you are the jackasses. Freedom of speech is mine, and yours. If only there was an amendment that would take care of political correctness. The comment about being a redneck that has never left Delmarva is quite funny also. If this is a suggestion that Haiti is a destination for sophisticated world travelers, then I will consider myself a redneck, and let you more worldly folks have my spot on the island.
As I type this an old AC/DC song is playing in my head. Guess which one.

Great more money that were going to have to spend on a turd world nation !

Now we are going to go re-build another country. How many Haitians would come running to our aid if this happened in the US? That's right none. How many Haitians are running back there to help? Maybe 10? And the 10 going to help are only going to help them on a plane to fly back here.

They come over here because they know america does help americans but helps others. AND he we go, sending help. Why does it always have to be america sending help? No other country has stepped up. No other country is in debt like america. America needs to help america before helping other countries!

When is the US going to stand up and say sorry, WE CAN'T AFFORD IT!?
Let some other country help out.

Hey Xenophobe's Paradise If the shore is ignorant it's because of low I.Q. transplants like you now get out of your mothers basement and get a job !

Bev just posted on facebook the following:
We are safe. No one was hurt and everyone got out of our building. We lost Carole's house and the depot under it. But, praise God we are all alive and not hurt.

Great work, Joe, in reporting this disaster so quickly! Your post was at least one-half hour earlier than anyone else.

I wish them the best in help and recovery, but I'm more concerned for our citizens, millions more now jobless, homeless and hungry. Our Country was built upholding God and Christ-like values, it's the right thing to do to help, plus being a superpower we could afford it. For a number of years now I think our government just jumps at the chance to spend and then justify raising taxes because of it... all the while ignoring the many problems they've created on our own citizens. How can you remove the splinter from your neighbors eye if you dont first remove the stick from your own eye?
What will happen when/if the US has our next disaster? more dept we cant afford...

Love your neighbor as yourselves....
Mother Theresa put it this way at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC Thur, 3 Feb 94.
She was referencing Matthew 25
On the last day, Jesus will say to those on His right hand, "Come, enter the Kingdom. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was sick and you visited me." Then Jesus will turn to those on His left hand and say, "Depart from me because I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was thirsty and you did not give me to drink, I was sick and you did not visit me." These will ask Him, "When did we see You hungry, or thirsty or sick and did not come to Your help?" And Jesus will answer them, "Whatever you neglected to do unto one of these least of these, you neglected to do unto Me!"
