Al's Retirement Party

Joe,

I was involved in the retirement party for Chief Coulbourn Dykes. We had it at the Civic Center, sold about 850 tickets at $20 and had Jimmys cater it. It was attended by law inforcement people from all over, even the FBI and CIA were represented. I am starting to work on Al's retirement party. I thought we could have it at Secrets, since that is where he spent most of the last 10 years. It will be $2 per person, for this you get to pin the tail on the ass.

The bad thing is you probably still work there.

Even at $2 a ticket there won't be anywhere near the number the Dykes retirement party sold.

Great event February 19, 1999 I was there Mr. Dykes was a great chief of police but more importantly a great person.

I'm sure that only 2 or 3 people will show up! $2.00 is way too much!

9:47: Ditto and I might add that he is irreplaceable. A true leader, a true police officer and more importantly, a gentleman who worked tirelessly for the benefit that agency and this city.

Merry Christmas to the Dykes family and to the City of Salisbury for this week's news which is long overdue.

If he is not at the party and we are parting that he is gone, everyone will attend.
