COUNTY EXECUTIVE POLLITT APPOINTS INTERIM CORRECTIONS DIRECTOR
Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., announced today that he has appointed George Kaloroumakis as Interim Director of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections.
Mr. Kaloroumakis is now on the job and will assume complete responsibility for managing the Corrections department on November 7th following the departure of Director Douglas C. Devenyns on November 6th. Please see news release attached on Mr. Devenyns resignation.
Mr. Kaloroumakis served as Assistant Warden at the Eastern Correctional Institute (ECI) from June, 1998 to December, 2005. In 1999, he was acting warden for five months. Prior to this, Mr. Kaloroumakis worked at ECI and the Poplar Hill Pre-Release Unit in various capacities beginning in 1984. His professional career in corrections began in 1975.
Mr. Kaloroumakis is a graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, MD.

Come November 6, 2009 when you leave Wicomico County Detention Center as the Director for good, don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you. Good riddance. You truly will NOT be missed.

choice. Ask the Officers who worked under him along time,both at
ECI and Popular Hill. He's well
known, and Not liked by Many....

another interim director of another department wonder how long that title will last if the public works interim position is an indicator it will be a long time. There are more quality people looking for jobs willing to work for less yet wicomico county or the city of salisbury can't seem to find any. That speaks more about the leadership of these municipalities than anything else. Watch out you spend happy O'Malley democrats look what happened in New Jersey and VA last evening. Those results should give Harris's campaign a big boost and might be enough to bring Ehrlich into the fray against O'Malley

Funny how managers who expect people to do their jobs get demonized and slandered. George is a positive, energetic man who will certainly give people a choice to excel or get out.

Two of ECI rejects that were forced into retirement because of their illegal actions running WCDC. Boy Rick you are ruining Wicomico County instead of making it better. It must me a Liberal Democratic thing.
