Our good fortune in the year’s mayoral election was once again on display at last night’s City Council meeting. In his ham-handed attempt to discredit the Mayor’s task force on crime, Bubba blatantly criticized its diligence in visiting two cities that have reduced their crime rates to much less than in Salisbury. But, Comegys complains, because both Dover and Annapolis are state capitals and have military installations it is not appropriate to consider how their city police force and elected officials have greatly reduced crime.
It is a very sobering thought: but for Jim Ireton, Salisbury’s mayor would probably be someone who also said last night that he is against spending any more of the City’s general fund revenue for better police services.

it may have been better to have that buffling bafoon as mayor and Jim on the council. at least then we would have a majority vote on the council that made sense. Jim's already proven the Mayor can't really do much without the council's approval.

Comegys as mayor would have brought the hidden crooks out into the open. They would be having a field day in Salisbury.
Why not send Comegys to the District of Columbia for a fact-finding session to see how city police and elected officials have NOT greatly reduced crime?
The capital and military arguments are so very lame.
And just so that he can get a picture of things from the ground up, send him there for three weeks with no wallet, credit cards or cash, a sleeping bag and a big piece of cardboard.
If Bubba was ever in the military he should know that the MP's and Shore Patrol personnel do not spend time in local law enforcement. He's an idiot!

Glad you picked up on the idiotic military town b.s. I could explain why the man's an idiot for saying that, but I have no interest in devoting my week to it.
