EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

I am one of those ignorant Conservatives that can not understand the Liberal mindset. It appears, to me, that the Liberal view of equality, is to bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator. No charter or magnet schools to help the brightest, hard working, students to a better education. It is evidently better to keep them mixed with students that are either not motivated or not capable of advanced education. Teachers must base the curriculum to the slowest student, ignoring those who want to learn more.

Unions are another puzzle. Everyone is equal. The harder or better workers can not be rewarded, but must have the same compensation. Unions fight hard to save the jobs of the worst workers, but I have never heard of a battle to reward the best worker. Being wealthy, with the exception of rich Democrats, is a horrible thing. ( I learned of tax loopholes by following the investments of rich Democrats) Those earning over $250,000 are terrible people and they must be penalized for their success.

Greed is bad when a conservative businessman makes an exorbitant amount of money. However, when a Liberal contributor makes a bundle that is not greed, but a reward for good work. (check out Warren Buffets' $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs) Hollywood stars, making millions, are heroes because they support Liberal causes. The few that are Conservatives are reviled. When a Liberal politician gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar, it's just a common mistake. Should that politician be conservative, then crucify that crook.

I'm just too stupid in believing hard work should be rewarded. I have the crazy idea that a hand up is better than a hand out. How nuts is it to think crime is crime, not matter who commits it. The most ignorant of all my ideas is, " You can't make poor people rich by making rich people poor."

Unions were the recent downfall of many companies. The bulk of unions are now only in government ironically. Thats right, the people that protect us (police and Fire) are now the ones that will break us. Dam a union, it's all about "ME!", not about who they serve. FOP, IAFF, you are a bunch of cry babies that could never make it in the real world!

Amen to what 9:42 said. If you are a contientious, producing worker, then you don't need a union to protect you. If you aren't, then you do. Because of unions, we now have a workforce that is about 75% useless. I can see a union to protect the safety of say someone who mines or builds skyscrapers. These are dangerous jobs the should have strict safety standards in place, but a union for a guy who stands on an assembly line and puts in screws or a government employee who does nothing but shows up for work should not have that same protection. The market should control who keeps thier job and who doesn't, and who gets the raises and promotions. It is just too bad that unions can't break the back of the government like they have broken the back of a lot of other industries in this country. Now that king hussien is in charge, his union buddies are being given more say than ever before. Goodbye to American leadership and hello to more coffee breaks.

Health care reform will UNIONIZE the entire healthcare field including home care workers.
So how will the mandatory breaks affect the efficiency of medical care? Forced breaks in E.R. or I.C.U?
