WHO IS THE BETTER DECEIVER?

When it comes to the practice of deceit, Republicans are no match for Democrats. The Clinton administration was convinced Iraq either had and was hiding WMD's or was actively working to produce them. However, they were more concerned with the sanctions that would bring about regime change. The Bush administration, after 9-11 and the victory over the Taliban in Afghanistan, with the blessing of Congressional Democrats determined to accomplish what Clinton was too distracted to do. Before pursuing this, we must look at the 2000 election.

Bush Verse Gore, as you know, was decided in a close election in the state of Florida. I wont bore you with a rehash of Hanging Chad's and court rulings. Though an official recount was not done, several major newspapers did a recount. It showed Bush had won by a larger margin. The media and the Democrat party conspired to hide this from the public. Unfortunately, the Republicans were either not capable or too ignorant to make this fact known. Left to fester, the belief that Bush was an illegitimate President, enabled the Democrats free to smear Bush at will.

Now back to Iraq. Ignoring the role the Clinton administration played in laying the groundwork for the attack on Iraq, it was easy for the Democrats to claim they were duped by Bush into supporting the effort. The fact that Saddam had previously used poison gas against the Kurds and the Iranians ( Gas is a WMD) could be ignored because a nuclear weapon had not been found. When Wilson could find no evidence of Saddam attempting to purchase Yellow Cake with which to produce a bomb, the media found it convenient to ignore other facts. If you recall, in 1982 Israel bombed an attempt to build a nuclear reactor in Iraq. Yellow Cake would have been required for that, so Saddam had to have had a supply. Indeed 5 tons were eventually found and shipped to Canada, which the media managed not to report on and of course, Democrats never acknowledged.

The current financial crises actually commenced during the Carter administration. Carter planted the seed for mortgages that would enable minority home ownership. Nothing much happened on that for the next two administrations, until George W. Bush called a conference to restart the initiative. Democrats quickly took that as their cause aided by their ACORN allies. When Bush realized and attempted to regulate what Freddie Mac and Fannie may were doing, he was blocked by congressional Democrats. How this led to the intricate financial maneuvering while the congress, the SEC, the Federal Reserve and Treasury slept is beyond the ability of this writer. Suffice it to sat, the Democrats managed to absolve themselves of all blame and place it squarely on Bush.

Rahm Emanuel said it best, "Never let a good crises go to waste." By blaming Bush for all the evils in the world, the Democrats feel free to reshape the country in any manner they choose aided by a compliant media. At this point, I believe, Republicans are living in the hope that the Democrat's will overreach and they will win by default.

The Republicans could easily win back the White House if they would focus on presenting the facts to the American people. Instead, they lash out and act like children. They let the far right speak for them which turns off many American voters. The party needs a huge PR campain to rid itself of the "lunacy". If America could respect the Republicans again, they would have a lot more power.

Generally speaking, the party in power has gotten into power by lying better than the other party. Making promises they never intend to keep is part of the process
The poor voter doesn't have a chance.

Another factless post. You want a story with facts? The two biggest failures of the American people by government were 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. What do they have in common? Republican President and Republican Congress.
