We so desperately need a carry law in Maryland. This lady should not have taken a beating from a miserable low life scumbag. Hey Scumbag, pick on someone your own size, you just run and hide like a coward.

when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

It becomes more apparent every day-everyone needs a gun. As things get worse, it is going to happen out of necesity, with or without government approval.

Yes, even a small handgun would have solved her problems.

She should have called 911 on her cell phone, taken a picture of the car with her cell phone before ever getting out of her car....btw, how crazy was THAT?
Even so, this guy is dangerous.
The only good thing is that this didn't happen in the city, so that the Sheriff dept. is the one looking for him. Otherwise this is the last we'd hear about it.

It is so important for women to take self defense classes in these kinds of situations when you cannot carry a weapon. If you have daughter's, make it a requirement that they take this class as well.

Unfortunately, the carry law would have worked in this idiot's favor as well. She's lucky she sustained the limited injuries she did. Never get out of the car and confront a stranger.

we have a carry law, but the agency in charge of issuing them feels no one should have the right so they issue very little of them.

yeah, that's right folks, this would have never happened if we had less restrictive carrying laws! Seriously?! YOU MORONS! I am all about gun ownership, but giving any schmuck on the street the right to carry a concealed weapon is idiotic! The male suspect in this incident is far more likely to be carrying a gun the the female victim. So instead of an assault, we would have a murder on our hands! That makes a lot of sense. 31% of American adults own a gun, but only 16% of American Adults have taken a hand gun safety course. So essentially, the statistics show that over half of the firearm owners in America, technically, do not properly know how to use a handgun. Now I know that some people have used handguns for years without any safety training and are very well trained gun owners; however, the firearm safety program and its background in the U.S. is not well enough or properly established to allow for carrying laws. It will be more dangerous to have a carrying law than to not have one. Not to mention, that all criminals do not neccessarily have a criminal record and would/could be eligible to carry themselves.

Carrying a concealed weapon should be a highly reserved priviledge and should not be for the average Joe on the street

Just what we need. A bunch of people with no training carrying guns so when they get out of their car to confront another driver they'll have their loaded gun on them.
How many shootings do you think will happen then?
This woman should have never gotten out of her car! She is an IDIOT!

fishy??

not that she deserved to be assaulted, but how the hell did she end up out of the car? it doesnt say that he forced her out or blocked her in, so one is led to believe that she got out of the car on her own accord. again, she didnt deserve to be beat on, but that was just stupid if she got out of her car in anger to confront someone over a road incident. 8:17 is right, next time just get the tag number and call the police.

I know her and she is an idiot.

Maybe she pulled out in front of the guy...On her cell Phone, Putting her make up on, playing with the radio. I see this every morning. Maybe She had done this again and again. But doesnt sound right to me that a female would get out of her car...doesnt say she was forced out. So maybe she got out and said something stupid or used some stupid degrading term to him? and caused this action? Dont always asume that the "Black Male" was all at fault here. He indeed had a kid in the car...

If both drivers thought the other was armed:

a) Male would never pull this stunt

b) Female would have no issue

I would never get out of the car in a remote area like that. The man ought to be ashamed of himself for the example he set for his kid

This is another case of he said she said. First how did the male shove her to the ground in the first place. In my opinion she is an extreme idiot because she had to have exited a safe place (inside the car) to start with. A handgun would not have done her any good because she did not exercise a defensive measure to start with. It seams she must have argued with the attacker to have been pushed to the ground as well. If he had meant her real harm he would not have stopped at just shoving her to the ground. In this case a human being could have been seriously injured or even killed because of a stupid argument. I have been a gun owner all of my life and have carried on occasion when no other choice is available. Having a carried permit is a huge responsibility and exercising the use of a handgun could land you with criminal charges if it is abused. The thing to do is step back and look at what provoked the whole thing before saying "if" she had a gun because having it does not mean she can actually use it!
