Obama: Doctors Choose Amputation Because Surgeons Get Paid More Than Physicians
Watch the video above and see just how much Obama despises doctors. See how much he lies about them. Medicare pays a surgeon between $500.00 and $700.00 to amputate a leg, NOT $30,000.00 TO $50,000.00. The fee also includes all post op visits. He's either a habitual liar or an imbecile. He's so uninformed that he is bound to destroy not only our health care system but this entire nation.

I am amazed how this guy snowed the American people and actually got elected. He is and he will continue to destroy this country step by step. Our only hope is that enough hard working Americans will wake up and put a stop to him. There is a reason why I said "hard working". I still have hope that the Constitution of this Country will prevail but is i going to take Great American's to show this bum the door.
Where in this clip is there anything that demonizes doctors? He's talking directly to how the system works. Even if his figures are wrong (which I think the White House needs to work on) his overall point is still valid; a focus on preventive care can be a money saving strategy
Typical left wing socialist demonize

You people will do anything to take up for this clown. To use one of Joe's favorite terms he is a lying POS. There is more than a little difference between $500 to $700 dollars and $330 to $50,000. Then again he fits right in with the rest of ther lyinf ass dems, remember Hillary dodging fire in Bosnia, anything Biden says, Chris Dodd sayiong he was not aware he got a sweetheart deal from countrywide on his mortgage, and on and on and on.
His figures are not just wrong, they are not even in the same universe. This is a problem. This guy actually believes that a surgeon would make $30,000 to amputate a foot! Should this overweight diabetic that refuses to follow a proper diabetic diet, refuses to exercise, refuses to stop smoking, is non-compliant with follow up appointments to the doctor, ultimately need his foot amputated to save his miserable life the surgeon can expect to be woefully underpaid for his services. Now how much money do you think a Primary Care Physician would get paid to manage this individual to a point where all his disease processes are under excellent control? I would love to see your response.
Nevermind the fact that the successful treatment of diabetes is HIGHLY dependent upon the follow through of the patient... oh no no... we don't want personal responsibility here!
anonymous 10:08, WHY do you think they call it insurance??????
Do you think people purposely make themselves ill!
Do you think people purposely get into car accidents.
Obama is a walking baffoon!
He is incapable of saying anything intelligent without his teleprompter.
Soooooooo, how's that Obama thing working out for ya?
10:01, if you step back a second from your blind ideaology, you'll see that I recognized that the president doesn't always get the numbers right. No president ever has. Although we are foolish to take Joe's numbers as the written gospel unless he can provide the evidence. In reference to lies; thats what dem. and rep. politicians have been doing the whole time. This isn't something that libs. hold a monopoly on.
He is the bravest man in the U.S.,
or he could be the most stupid. I
vote for the most stupid. I wonder how it will happen?
as for 10:06, I agree. Actually I think your premiums should be based on your lifestyle choices. Fat @$$es, smokers, heavy drinkers, dare devils should all pay higher premiums. Excercise, eat right, avoid drugs, you should pay less. Unlike so many of the idealogues posting on this blog, I can admit that I am an Obama supporter while also making it clear that I don't agree with his policies 100% of the time. Seems like too many of you guys on the right consider it an all-or-nothing deal to give your support. No wonder it is you who scream "messiah".
anonymous 10:39, while I agree with some of what you said, since when does our Government have the right to regulate Insurance Companies and or those who foot the bill every month?????????
Joe, note that I didn't mention anything about gov. regulation. This is only MY opinion as to how it should work. If I were an insurance company, this might be either the best idea (sign up customers in generally good health) or the worst (nobody wants this plan). Who knows. Any potential investors on the forum? : )
anonymous 10:56, Why not name insurance companies two different things then. A Sure Thing or Your Loss Insurance.
You see, the Government can set standards as to who would fit into what catagory and you can buy policies accordingly.
Come on now, that's why it's INSURANCE. The Government stepping in will forever change the face of health insurance and that IMHO is price fixing. The Government is creating a competition and ultimately a monopoly and scaring everyone into believing its all for the better or the good of all people.
Our Government is not God and they need to stay out of our business.
Joe,
People do purposely make themselves ill. Not in the immediate sense (i.e., car accidents), but in the long-term view. Fast food three times a week, little to no exercise, high-fat and low-fiber/vegetable diets, and onward. As a medical practitioner, I see patients deliberately discard medical advice for the purpose of instant gratification, which leads to future HBP, diabetes, colorectal cancer, peridontal disease, and other disease states.
Personal responsibility (as reiterated by President Reagan) is not a value in the society of today.
There's a difference between purposely and intentionally.
I believe Insurance companies are encouraging preventative care but look, let's get one thing straight here with all due respect to all.
People are living much older today than they were 20, 30 and even 40 years ago.
Mind you, MANY have lived a full life and really don't want to live another 10 to 20 years. I'm serious now, this is a fact.
Think about it, how old do YOU want to live?
Some may want to live to be a hundred, maybe even more but guess what Folks, your BODY can't do it and won't, in 99% of the cases.
Our Government wants as much tax revenue as they can possibly achieve. You tell me of another business where you sit back ad do NOTHING, don't provide services and collect taxes for 70 years from a typical American and they get what back in return?
Mind you, we USED to live in the greatest Country in the World and as my Grandmother regularly likes to removed me, "it's all you've got Joe."
Mind you, she and her Family came here from another Country and lived through watching this place called America grow in such a way people from her Country would never have believed.
She's now 97 years old and let me share with you an interesting and very funny story aout her recently.
At 95 years old she was experiencing chest pain. My Aunt took her to the Hospital and they informed her that she was having a heart attack and if they didn't operate she wasn't going to survive it. Well, Grandma said, are you kidding me, I've lived a fantastic life, I don't want to be operated on. My Aunt told her she wasn't ready for her to go so would she please consider the operation. To make a long story short, my Grandmother had a quadruple bypass, died 4 times on the table, they revived her each time and when she woke from surgery the Doctor said, Bea, you're all better now, we almost lost you. Here's the good news Bea, I just added another 12 years to your life, in which she replied, YOU SON OF A BITCH!
That's an honest to God story. All I'm saying is, leave us alone. I'm sure there are some great facts, stories, ideas, the whole nine yards. However, our Government needs to stop playing God and changing the rules. Part of life is the ending, dying. While it saddens some, it's a reality to most and to others that time couldn't come soon enough. Let it be.
Enlighten me. Are their currently any companies offering "lifestyle based" coverage as explained in 10:39?
How many more years do we have to put up with him again?
I believe that Obama is closer than you are on figures. You are telling me that teeth cleaning costs $120 dollars but to amputate anything costs $500-$700 including all visits before. That is ludicrous! And there is nothing pointing to any articles so where did you get your figures.
anonymous 1:43, you clearly didn't read the article.
That's what a Doctor is paid from Medicare, around $500.00 to $700.00.
I also got my information from a Doctor and I use my name here adding credibility, unlike an Obamanut under anonymous simply trying to challenge the TRUTH.
You all miss the point. BHO uses half witted anology - the first doctor is the one who tried to help the patient, but the one making the big bucks amputating (whatever the number) is a completely different person (i.e. Surgeon).
So, is BHO saying the primary care physician will work harder or that the patient will be a better patient; if we pay the Primary Physician more...
This dip is mentally bankrupt.
How about some TORT reform first?
Yes, of course, lawyers are always blame...until YOU need one.
