Obama and the democrats promise every day that all services provided today would continue under the Public Plan.
Attached is page 30 of HR 3200, the House Bill.
If this were the case why would we need a Health Benefits Advisory Committee (line 16) to "recommend covered benefits." To me, this indicates some benefits covered today by the private plans might not be covered under the public plan. How else could this be interpreted?
It is chilling that lines 17 and 18 indicate Obama wants a committee to decide which diseases or medical problems would be covered under one plan but not under a cheaper one. This sounds just as horrible as Obama insists the private health insurance companies are today!
Line 15 states this committee will consist of "medical and other experts." Who will the medical experts be? Doctors? Nurses? Who will the non-medical experts be? Accountants?
To answer these concerns, Obama will squirm (only inside, as he is one hell of a performer) and state HR 3200 is only one of several bills being considered and he never intended all of its parts to be included in the final bill. This is what the mainstream media is already spreading on his behalf.
But remember, the bill Obama urged Congress to vote on and pass prior to the recess was HR3200.

TRUTH: Page 30 begins to describe the Health Benefits Advisory Committee which establishes certain minimum standards for health insurance plans. In no way does this committee deny treatments and benefits to Americans with health insurance.
Also, Obama never urged Congress to vote on and pass HR3200. He wanted A health care reform bill, and wasn't tied to a single version.
