"MR. PRESIDENT WILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY GIVE UP YOUR CURRENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM AND JOIN THE NEW 'UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM' THAT THE REST OF US WILL BE ON ????"..... (BET YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER)...
THERE WAS A STONEY SILENCE AS OBAMA IGNORED THE QUESTION AND CHOSE NOT TO ANSWER IT !!!...
IN ADDITION, A NUMBER OF SENATORS WERE ASKED T HE SAME QUESTION AND THERE RESPONSE WAS..."WE WILL THINK ABOUT IT."
AND THEY DID. IT WAS ANNOUNCED TODAY ON THE NEWS THAT THE "KENNEDY HEALTH CARE BILL" WAS WRITTEN INTO THE NEW HEALTH CARE REFORM INITIATIVE ENSURING THAT THAT CONGRESS WILL BE 100% EXEMPT !
SO, THIS GREAT NEW HEALTH CARE PLAN THAT IS GOOD FOR YOU AND I... IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR OBAMA, HIS FAMILY OR CONGRESS...??
WE (THE AMERICAN PUBLIC) NEED TO STOP THIS PROPOSED DEBACLE ASAP !!!!... THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG !!!!!
PERSONALLY, I CAN ONLY ACCEPT A UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL THAT EXTENDS TO EVERYONE... NOT JUST US LOWLY CITIZENS... WHILE THE WASHINGTON "ELITE" KEEP RIGHT ON WITH THEIR GOLD-PLATED HEALTH CARE COVERAGES.

Can you point me to some reporting on this? I haven't seen this story anywhere.
But they say you can keep your current insurance coverage if you're happy with and don't have to join the public option. So why shouldn't that apply to the President and Congress? Evidently they are happy with their plan and want to keep it. The public option is supposed to be for people who aren't offered anything through their job or can't otherwise afford coverage. Sounds fair to me.

Oh sure, sounds great that you can keep your coverage. Not so fast my friend. How is private insurance supposed to compete with the federal government? The federal government can obviously work on a deficit and has unlimited resources at their disposal. What is the tax going to be on employers who don't provide insurance? If it is cheaper to pay the tax, then employers will stop providing insurance and pay the tax. Suddenly we are all on the government plan. They make it sound good now, but it is designed to get everyone on the single payer system eventually. Everyone except Congress and the White House. Look beyond the surface of this health care bill. Also, why was the President in such a hurry to ram this through Congress before the August recess? It makes you wonder...

Here's the reason. As a small business owner, we offer health insurance to our employees. With this plan, not only do we have to keep paying for our employees, we now will have a payroll tax to cover the "gov't run" insurance.
At our payroll, that will be between 6 and 8 percent of our total payroll.
Are you stupid enough to think we won't pass that on to the employees? When their contributions increase 200 %, I don't want to hear any crying!!

The American people realize they cannot trust Congress with a Health Care Bill. That's why the people are reading the bill, even if the Congress isn't reading it. We know the devil is in the details.
Mommy, if the gubmnt is competing with you, you can't keep up with the taxes and you will fail. However, if the gubmint will slide some cash our way, Barack and his cronies will get better coverage. The rest of you "commonfolk" will get what we say is "best fo' you"

Um, HELLO, it's the President of the United States of America. It doesn't matter if it's Obama or Reagan or anyone else, they're going to get the world's best of everything -- security, clothes, food, transport, and of course DOCTORS -- so it's asinine to think they'll receive the same standard of care as the rest of us. Divided we stand. Government is bad / private sector good. Even on a local level we don't get out what we pay in. The only thing I don't mind paying with my taxes is Sheriff Lewis salary. He is a true worker for the people. No motive except fighting crime. Maybe he should run for President.

OK, I'd vote for Mike Lewis for President. He'd be the best choice out there.
Do you remember the late Sen. Paul Tsongas (D-MA)? He ran a strong campaign for President in 1992. He was probably the smartest Massachusetts Democrat ever to run for President. He said, "If anyone thinks the words 'government' and 'efficiency' belong in the same sentence, we have counseling available."
