UPDATE: Shooting at the Claymont Station


Claymont- The victim in this case is a 21-year-old male subject. He was shot a single time in the arm. His injuries are not considered life threatening, however, surgery is anticipated today.

At the time of the shooting, he was in this parking lot of the train station with his friends when he was approached by a male suspect. Preliminarily, the motive for this shooting appears to have been robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, light to medium complexion, early 20’s, 5’10” to 6’00” tall, hair pulled back with a pony tail, unshaven, average build, who was not wearing a shirt and who was carrying a small handgun.

DSP News Release: Monday, June 29, 2009- Shooting at the Claymont Station Preliminary Release

Location of Incident: Parking lot of the Claymont Station, Claymont, Delaware

Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, June 29, 2009, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Suspect(s): None at this time

Resume: State Troopers are currently responding to a reported shooting which occurred in the parking lot of the Claymont Train Station.

Reports are that one male subject was shot. This individual was transported by a private vehicle to the Crozier Chester Hospital in Pennsylvania.

No additional information is available at this time. The next news release is expected to be sent out tomorrow once detectives have a chance to investigate this case.
