His conduct during the City Council’s recent budget work sessions has been astounding, but his performance at last night’s televised meeting to adopt next year’s budget was beyond the pale. Even though he has led the charge, supported by Smith and Shields, to spend the City’s surplus funds to buy new capital equipment, he claimed to be sorry that the budget will provide no cost of living salary increase (the second year in a row) for City personnel.
Isn’t the reason that he and the other two members mentioned above supported the double-digit tax increase in the property tax rate that Barrie Tilghman demanded in 2007, which has yielded much of the surplus, to generate funds for better pay?
The hit being put on the City’s unreserved surplus funds – they could drop from $6.4 million to $3.5 million in just two years – is downright dangerous. In this economic climate, what lies ahead?
Then there’s Bubba’s grandstanding and public posturing during and after the meeting. Disgusting

I am totaly disgusted with our council. There again this year there is NO raise for our city policemen. These guys/girls put their lives on the line everyday. They dont know from call to call what is waiting for them. If they would hire a better person for the position of Chief that money could be used for the guys on the street. Other employees did not get a raise either..I guess they are on the bottom of the list of people. They are used to living with minimal money and bare necessities. They will be ok? Ask Pam, Pick, Gary to live on what they make. That would be a different story. If we dont take care of the little guy why should they take care of us. I guess we will know when they DONT.
Use the box truck which was written off for something instead of purchasing another one.
Annon 9:35 I understand your frustration, however at least they have not lost any salary. Since 03/01/09 our associates have taken a 12% decrease across the board. In addition, we are paying a larger percentage towards our health insurance and having to take furlough days.
Lore' got an $8000 raise. It should have been no raises across the board or raises for all. Fair is Fair.

Lynn Cathcart about had a cow last night when Bubba didn't deliver his lines properly. She was carrying on in her seat each time he mis-spoke. Now tell us, how did she know what he was supposed to say? It seems puppet Bubba needs a little more guidance. He's not bright enough to get there on his own.
Both Comegys and Cathcart are nothing but disgusting anyway, what more do you expect.

Jim S, now that you've got a Mayor who will listen, ask him about the employee council and tell him what you need. This next budget will be his and he needs your input.
Well, its become very clear for me that we really need to move on the recall for the triumvirate. Bubba's performance and that of Shanie shows the need clearly. Not to mention the Weasels performance, too.
Perhaps this can be debunked...the Times stated the following about the budget "...and includes an estimated $21,000 toward controversial health insurance for two on the five-member panel." Now I have County health benefits, which I assume are the same or better than the City's, and I do agree that council members should receive health benefits; however, those benefits do not add up to $21,000/year for two individuals. My health insurance ends up being $5,988 per year of which I am responsible for $898 of the cost. So essentially the County portion of the health benefits for me is $5,090/year.
So it seems to me that either Times has their numbers skewed about the cost of their health insurance or the budget may be off by about $10,000. Please fill me in. Thank you.

Comegy's has done an excellent job on the Council. In particular, he has looked out for those of us in the Police and Fire Departments. He stands up for our needs because he is a Fireman. Cut him a break.

To Jim S. There was an employee council that met with the mayor and council each year during budget sessions. This stopped when the members of that council got smart and actually found employment elsewhere. It never changed anything, I was one of those employees, we gave it our all to help the public works dept actually get recognized for what they did but didn't have the backing of Jacobs or the Mayor. Hopefully with a new mayor and John Jacobs gone you will have better luck than we did. The smartest thing I ever did was quit the City about 5 years ago and its sad to know that I would be making even less now than I did then. Take it from me as well as the others that finally got smart and left - keep looking for other employment - it will happen and you will make more money and be so much happier. Good Luck!!!
Bubba has never ever fought a fire in his life. He tried to impersonate a real firefighter in a real fire once and came running out and left his partner behind. He came running out the door like a freight train and they started calling that pussy Choo Choo after that.

Seriously? A firefighter or cop thinks that Comegys has looked out for them? Wow. As for public works employees, I do think you deserve a raise, as do the police and firefighters. But not only did I not get a raise the last 2 years, this year I am getting a furlough while my insurance is going up. So i have a pretty big net loss. It is tough out there for everyone, I am just happy I have a job and health insurance

Speaking of Cathcart, did I hear correctly she was sitting with Muir Boda at the meeting last night? Boda certainly is one you can play connect the dots with, including with the stalker of Debbie Campbell.
Someone said the Fat Man filed an ethics complaint against Campbell and Cohen.
What about the ethics of those who set this b.s. up in the first place?
The fatman and ethics should never be used in the same sentence. Especially in conjunction with Cathcart and Boda.
