Stuntman Charged With Felony Resisting Arrest
Late Friday evening, a Troop 7 patrol officer was traveling Route 1 northbound, approaching CR270, when he observed a motorcycle operator 'pop-a-wheelie.' With the bike up on one wheel, the operator let go with both hands and continued down the roadway. The operator resumed two-wheeled operation and turned onto CR270. The bike turned into the Wawa on CR270 and the Trooper followed behind him.
The Trooper activated his emergency equipment and the operator of the bike accelerated quickly through the crowded parking lot. The operator, to be referred to hereinafter also as the suspect, tried to jump a curb, and into a field, in an attempt to elude the Trooper. When the bike hit the ground, it fell over. The Trooper quickly moved in and tried to apprehend the suspect.
The suspect put up a fight and actively resisted the Troopers attempt to take him into custody. Eventually, the handcuffs were secured the bandit arrested. This suspect's actions resulted in the Trooper damaging his uniform. This operator was then identified as Dave Moncavage. He told the Trooper he fled to avoid getting a ticket. He also added that he was a stunt bike driver. This coincided with the tag on his motorcycle- "STUNT."
Moncavage was transported back to Troop 7 where he was formally charged with Resisting Arrest (felony), Disregarding a Police Officers Signal (felony), Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor), Reckless Driving, two motorcycle violations and Failure to Signal. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of secured bond.

Look at those pin-dot pupils!
2 questions...
1) How can you pop a wheelie, and let go of both hands? This seems a bit stretched, as the way a wheelie "works" is by continuous acceleration to keep the front wheel from dropping. Letting go of the throttle initiates an instant drop in speed, and would essentially drop the wheelie. Not that I care, or am defending this guy, but the story seems a bit exaggerated if you ask me.
2) Why is this the same exact story as on WBOC - word for word? Clearly someone is simply copying another's work and pasting it on their site. Normally, the poster would give credit to the originating site, but neither references the other. Just struck me as odd. I've seen this in the past, and was just wondering if anyone knew.
I'd imagine it came from WBOC, cause it sounds like their crappy journalism.
Two weeks ago on a Sunday in Laurel, DE I was driving up RT 13. Two motorcycles pulled onto the highway behind the pack of cars that we were driving alongside. I suddenly heard the motorcycles accerlating loudly. The one motorcyle passed all the cars on the shoulder of the road. The other guy rode up between all the cars in the middle of the highway to pass at an extremely high rate of speed. We were driving about 50 m.p.h. at the time and if one car swerves he would have been dead. I have also witnessed motorcycles doing wheelies on the Rt. 50 Bypass in Salisbury at 65 + m.p.h. The motorcyclists tell us to watch out for them, but it seems as if more and more motorcycle drivers are taking extreme risks on the road. Thank you and safe driving to those who are responsible motorcycle drivers.

They are pin-dot or constricted because that is what pupils do when they are exposed to a bright flash of light. Get with it moron!
He must not be very good stunt Driver'or he would have got away. He looks like a Nitwit.
Obviously unable to distinguish between the fantasy life of movies and reality.
Dope.
Anonymous 6:36,
It waqs a Press Release by the Delaware State Police. I can assure you of one thing. I posted it within a minute of it coming out. I just happened to be on line today when it came in and I popped it up immediately. Not that it matters who got it out there first, I can almost guarantee I did. Does WBOC have theirs time stamped? Now that you know I put it up within a minute of EVERYONE out there getting it, I'd love to know if they put up an earlier time just to make it look like they were quicker? If you come back and say they did, I'll Post thye priginal e-mail showing the time it came out and we'll see just how truthful every one is being.
next thing you know John Robinson will be claiming he also was a stunt rider and he would have gotten away! lol... the guy is a complete idiot.
lol cool its too bad he didnt get away!
Try driving thru Delmar on Route 13 late Saturday nights when the racetrack lets out! Some people think they are still on the track and I suspect a few of them are drunk when they leave.
