I am worried that the council is not aware of the support Urban Salisbury has in the community. If the council does not have consensus on moving an $11,000 budget amendment forward, than the funding for Urban Salisbury will be done and the organization will close. The city's 2008-2009 total investment in Urban Salisbury was $55K which generated a Direct Return of close to $438,000 dollars. That is an excellent rate of return. Please, if you are inclined, contact your council members below and let them know you'd like $11,000 for Urban Salisbury funded.

It would be nice if each council member had an email box through the GOB, so we could reach Shanie Shields. She needs to be brought out from under her rock.
I just emailed the rest, and I hope everyone else does, too. This is where Grassroots starts, folks.
Urban Salisbury is worthwhile, but it needs a real infusion of interest and commitment from more of the folks Downtown. It isn't just about the Plaza. Bring your new blood, new ideas and new energy and be a part of it. Having the support of someone like Jim Ireton may be just what Urban Salisbury needs.

Campbell has e-mailed indicating that she and Councilwoman have already responded in support of placing the item on the agenda. Louise doesn't need consensus to put it on the agenda. She is using that as a place to hide. Shanie is alwyas asking Debbie & Terry where the constituents are that they hear from. Let's ring their phones and show up on Monday in support of Urban Salisbury, our new Mayor.
