Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On March 6, 2009 at approximately 4:10 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Sears Department Store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of two (2) shoplifters. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised the officers that employees of the store had observed the below listed suspects taking clothing from the store without making payment. The clothing was recovered and returned to Sears.


ARRESTED #1: Jennifer Mae Case, 22 years of age Parsonsburg, Maryland

CHARGES:
Theft (under $ 500)
Conspiracy to commit theft

ARRESTED #2: Tonya Jean Holland, 28 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Theft (under $ 500)
Conspiracy to commit theft

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking CC # 200900007426

On March 6, 2009 at approximately 9:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of E. Vine St. and observed a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect driving erratically, almost striking another vehicle. The suspect was stopped and gave the officer consent to search the vehicle and her person. A search of the vehicle and of the suspect resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected heroin, a quantity of suspect methadone and a number of used syringes and other paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Angela Marie Nelka, 38 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Possession of heroin
Use of drug paraphernalia to store heroin
Possession of cds/paraphernalia
Unlawful alteration of a prescription bottle

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900007467

On March 7, 2009 at approximately 4:08 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant from an investigation that began in June of 2008. At that time it was found that the suspect had presented and cashed a number of checks stolen from a victim’s wallet.

ARRESTED: Melvin Eugene Riley, 45 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Forgery – private documents (5 counts)
Theft ( under $ 100) (5 counts)
Issuing false documents (5 counts)
Attempted theft (under $ 100)
Conspiracy to commit theft (over $ 500)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800023207

On March 6, 2009 at approximately 2:12 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect as a fugitive from justice in Delaware. A records check revealed that the suspect was wanted in Sussex County, Delaware for robbery, possession of a firearm, and Conspiracy to commit felony conduct.

ARRESTED: Jonathan Jacob Decker, 19 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
First degree robbery
Possession of a firearm-commission of a felony
Conspiracy to commit felony conduct

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900007420

On March 7, 2009 at approximately 5:46 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Superfresh Store on E. College Avenue for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store personnel who advised that the below listed suspect had been observed by store personnel taking meat and seafood from the store without making payment. The employees were able to retrieve the property and detain the suspect.

ARRESTED: Leonard (nmn) Waters, III, 43 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 500)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900007594

On March 7, 2009 at approximately 11:18 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the T’s Market Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers were advised that the below listed suspect had been observed by store employees taking property from the store without making payment. The officers were able to locate the suspect a short distance from the store.

ARRESTED: Ronald Lee Conway, 40 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900007639
