I just returned from shopping and collecting some important photos. Half way home I started experiencing freezing rain, so things are just starting to get slick out there. I haven't cranked up the big Hemi Dodge 4x4 in 15 months. Looks like we'll be sporting around in that for the next couple of days.
Here's a funny one for you. About 12 years ago we had quite a large snow storm. I was living in Gambrills/Davidsonville at the time and the snow was so bad that I had to have a front end loader come in and clear out all of the snow around my property.
After that experience I went out and bought this monstrous commercial snow blower and it hasn't snowed enough since to bring that puppy out to use it. LOL! Maybe I'll finally get my money's worth this week??????
Nevertheless, be safe out there Folks and if you don't have to drive, DON'T! I don't want to be writing about any one of you tonight or tomorrow.

Everything tonight bears watching, from the previous 3-6-9" down to 1-3", I'm watching that rain/snow line on the radar.
And NO, I didn't rush to the grocery store, actually, I missed my grocery shopping this week due to unforseen issues, but we have enough to see us through.

The radar, which I have on a continuous loop for now, has shifted in the last 20 minutes, it's, but I didn't need to see that. It's sleeting here and heavily.
I am prepared for it after seeing the weather reports. Plenty of coffee and just hope that I don't lose electric because I want to be able to check in here when I feel like it and not have to hide my screen if I was at work...lol
I LOVE snow bring it on. Shovels and salt are on the porch, pellet stove is filled and of course the bird feeders are filled. LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOWWWWWW!!!!!!

I started my fireplace up about 5:30 pm.About 6pm ice started to form on my back deck.I turned my scanner on and the police are gonna have a busy nite. I would like to think the salt trucks are out now.Folks stay home.
Salt trucks are a rarity on the shore. I've seen snow covered main roads hours after the storm. Slow down, and for once, use your turn signals.
Seaford School District is closed tomorrow!!! Whoo-hoo snow day!!!
Salt trucks???? You must be kidding! Well, it is the overtime hour, but they will not be out until the roads are past the rescue stage and need plowing. my guess is that (as usual) they will let at least 2" accumulate on the ice layer (should be around 3 an, still overtime hours) then when it's all packed down, they will try plowing for a while before salting. Gotta git them 8 O.T. hours in first. Hence, we will be delayed tomorrow instead of having good roads...
Ice is lot worse than snow, I'll take 2 feet of snow over ice anyday!
Pretty much all schools are closed tomorrow, it's a Professional Day.
I totally agree ORSON. Gotta love how the local SHA take care of us taxpayers. I bet their streets are clear. Typical slow minded ways of the shore. Another reason to leave.
Joe could you please consider doing a listing of closing during stuff like this. Most of our local channels suck. I always check your website first anyway for up to date information. You are always on the ball. Just food for thought for your website. Thanks for all you do.

We just came back from Baltimore a little bit ago and it took us almost 4 hrs to get to Salisbury! The snow was falling hard, the roads were awful, but the worst part is that the salt trucks STOPPED when we entered Dorchester County. No help from salt trucks to clear the road (we couldn't even see the lane dividing lines!) at all in Dorchester or in Wicomico County (Rt 50, an "emergency evacuation route!"). There was only one lane on 50 and we were trying to stay close to the rumble strips to make sure we were following the road! The other option was the ditch on the left or the guard rails. It was not safe at all, even at 30 mph. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Its sticking to the roads now. It looks like about 1/2 - 3/4 inches right now...Looks like it stopped.
SU is still running on normal schedule as of right now.
Weather Channel hour by hour says its gonna rise slowly in temp (to 39*) until about 2am (raining) and then drop quickly to about 33* at 3am and begin snowing again.

Interestingly, none of the local stations mention Wicomico schools. I know they're closed for professional day, but still...
Anonymous 10:04. This is the shore where things happen slower. Including things like this. Its the lazy slow moving redneck way. There arent that many roads around here and plowing them shouldnt be done as half-a$$ as it is.
