Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On February 14, 2009 at approximately 7:19 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the ATM area of the State Employee’s Credit Union on Mt. Hermon Road for the report of a robbery and shooting. Upon arrival the officers met with the victim, identified as 69 year old Theodore Edward Shea of Salisbury, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg. The victim advised the officers that while involved in an ATM transaction, the victim was approached by a single suspect who produced a handgun. The suspect demanded currency from the victim then fired the handgun striking the victim. The victim was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was treated and remains in stable condition. This investigation is continuing. The suspect was described as:

Black male, approximately 5’-09” tall, medium build, approximately twenty (20) to thirty (30) years of age, wearing all black clothing to include a black hooded
sweatshirt. CC # 200900005070

On February 15, 2009 at approximately 8:25 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Wendy’s Restaurant on Punkin Court, for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, the officers met with the management and employees of the business. The employees advised that two (2) suspects had entered the restaurant and approached the front counter producing a long rifle type weapon. The second suspect produced a handgun type weapon and the two (2) suspects took an amount of U.S. Currency from the business before fleeing from the area on foot. There were no injuries. This investigation is continuing, and the suspects were described as:

1. Black male, approximately 20 years of age, 5’-08”, thin build, wearing dark colored clothing and in possession of a long rifle.

2. Black male, approximately 20 years of age, 5’-08”, thin build, wearing dark clothing to include dark pants with faded grey spots on the front. CC # 200900005196

On February 13, 2009 at approximately 10:35 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Baker Street and observed the below listed suspect approaching vehicles in the roadway on foot. The officers made contact with the suspect, who was checked and found to be in possession of a substantial quantity of suspected “crack”/cocaine.

ARRESTED: Brandon Michael Smart, 19 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
Possession of cocaine
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900004907

On February 13, 2009 at approximately 10:52 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Store Pharmacy on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a prescription fraud. Upon arrival the officers were advised by pharmacy personnel that the below listed suspect had fraudulently obtained a prescription for Hydrocodone.

ARRESTED: Heather Ann Laroque, 27 years of age Berlin, Maryland

CHARGES:
Possession of Hydrocodone, a CDS
Obtaining a prescription by fraud (2 counts)
False representation as a practitioner
Counterfeiting a prescription
Passing a counterfeit prescription (2 counts)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900004906

On February 15, 2009 at approximately 2:46 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the 7-11 Store on Nanticoke Road for the report of an assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an employee of the store, and a victim who advised that the below listed suspect had assaulted the victim. The witnesses advised that the victim became involved in an argument with the suspect inside of the store then followed the suspect into the parking lot to continue the argument. Once into the parking lot are the suspect produced a pocket type knife and swung the knife at the victim, cutting the victim.

ARRESTED: Billy Wayne Clem, 50 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
First degree assault
Second degree assault

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900005138

On February 16, 2009 at approximately 2:06 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol and stopped a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. The suspect began acting in a suspicious manner, and as a result the vehicle was checked and a quantity of suspected marijuana was located on the floor. The suspect was taken into custody.

ARRESTED: Joshua Aaron Rayfield, 19 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Possession of marijuana

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900005261

I'll tell ya. This 5'9", 180 lb, black guy with dark clothes and a hooded sweatshirt is one hell of a busy man. He's been committing crime in the Salisbury area for years and he's never been caught!! Why can't they catch him!!??

Just a gunshot. I thought he was shot several times.

I think the stores should have to keep track of everyone that buy black hoodies. It would make the search easier lol
