Recently there was an Officers meeting held at the Moose in Salisbury. The main topic of this meeting were the finances of the Club. They discussed the possibility of closing the Salisbury doors within the next six months. Members will be urged to keep there memberships up to date which will allow them to enter other Moose Lodges in the country. At the next meeting there will be more information concerning closing the doors.
Hey George Bush, don't let that door hit you in the rear end too hard when you leave. Oh, and enjoy that guaranteed retirement check for the rest of your life and your Wife's life. I told you Folks, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.
If you're a current Member or even a former Member, I strongly urge you to go to the next meeting and support an American Tradition once again.

Sadly there are lots of fraternal organizations in the same position as Salisbury Moose all over the country.VFW,Elks and others are suffering because while their expenses are rising,memberships are at all-time lows.People just do not have the money or the time for clubs in this economy and its a shame because these groups do ALOT for local charities.I hope Moose can persevere.
The Moose, like other fraternities have a internal problem that is growing like a cancer.
Other factors: "Big Brother laws", harassment by police-hanging out just off the property then stopping vehicles for no reason-Yeah, the cop is always right, mismanagement within, embezzlement, younger people aren't interested in these organizations anymore.
these organizations give a great deal to the community, in service and money. it would be a shame to see them gone.
Thanks Ralph Shockley. Your getting what you wanted, at the expense of the people that really enjoy the Moose and what they do for our Community. I hope your happy.
You have got to be kidding me. The members are not kept informed about the "meetings" or anything else for that matter. Only a select few "ronnie price behind/rump kissers" are afforded that information, then they get their free "moose bucks" and other perks (free drinks/tickets to events, etc.)...mindless idiots that they are.

I am one of the mindless idiots that recieves moose bucks. I volunteer at the lodge sometimes 7 to 8 hours for one event and recieve very few moose bucks. I do not volunteer for the moose bucks. I volunteer to help the lodge. Those who criticize are the ones who do not volunteer. Why not use that wasteful energy and volunteer. You just might find that you can help your lodge and your community.
The Moose Lodge is a great source for 12 step memberships. I don't think I've ever known a member who pump down the devil's elixir with reckless abandon.
I used to belong to the Moose Lodge. I quit for the fact it became just a bar and whorehouse.There were too many people in everybodies business. Drinks there are more expensive than many bars in the area. They let all kinds of riff raff join without screening anyone like they used to. When Harold Daily ran the lodge It was a nice place to go. I remember back then you could hardly find a seat on Friday nights. The ones in charge now have ran the place into the ground. You know who you are. If you do not play golf or kiss ass you do not fit in. Too many cliques in charge of things. They offer nothing for other members except high price drinks and smart ass bartenders. I enjoy myself at other clubs that stay out of your business and offer affordable prices. Good bye and good riddence.

Why is it that organizations around here don't bother to notify their members of such stuff? Heck! It's your members that will SAVE you!

You thank Ralph Shockley, I do as well, but for the right reasons. Ralph didin't do this, Ronnie and his goons did. All Ralph has done is make sure things were done right. Many of the Admin have wanted Ralph out for a long time because they wanted to hide the corruption and keep the Moose as there own little social club. The Moose tried to kick Ralph out with bull s!@T and he didn't leave. I cancelled my membership because of this and know several others that did also. So I thank Ralph Shockley, and if Ronnie Price were to be voted out and and someone like Ralph were to take over the Moose would thrive again!

Those who want to blame Ralph Shockley must be one of the dozen or so that actually still attend the Moose. Like many others I to dropped my membership because of the corruption of Ronnie Price. The Salisbury Lodge does not give money anymore to youth organizations but would rather let the "freeloaders"(Price's Butt Kissers) go on bus trips and get drunk at the members expense.
The same bus trips that Ralph and his so called friends also use to be one all the time, just like with golf Ralph and his so called friends also were always at every tournament, but since he sucker punched another member and was suspended for a year. A year suspension for a officer and Moose state represenative and he gets one year, should be banned for life. During that year and since being reinstated has caused nothing but problems for the moose and other members because he always holds grudges for everything he has ever done in his life. So lets review people are pointing fingers at Ralph and people are pointing fingers at Ronnie, so why not use common sense and get rid of both, guarantee all the Moose problems would be solved
ALLEGEDLY punched his a better statement. He allegedly punched the President of the Price clones. Five witnesses said he did not throw a punch and the one that got hit said he got punched. Who do we believe? Of course at the Moose it would be the a** kisser. It is funny the guy who got hit didn't have a mark.

What a shame! The Moose has always been a tremendous help to this community. It seems like jealousy and childishness are running rampant with a small number of our members.Try putting the good of the club first and not your personal feelings for either Ronnie Price or Ralph Shockley. If you don't like the way the Moose is run join the Elks or the Eagles.This won't happen-- you'd rather sit around and wallow in your misery and cry in your been. Some Happy Hour!!!

Wow! I look at this blog and wonder what is the real problem with the Salisbury Moose Lodge. But then I notice that everyone here has thrown all kinds of charges, half truths , etc.......However not one of you will put your name on what you say!!!!!!! I use to be a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge and found that unless you are a member of the inner group, your money is the only thing that is wanted. Not your help, time or presences. Then again that is just one of the many problems. The people that belong to the inner circle are just as much at fought as the people whom sit, watch and do nothing. There is safety in numbers people!!!!!!! If you don't like something change it!!!! Revolution is what this Great country is based on.....apply the same priciples to your lodge.

*ASK local charities where they would be without the Salisbury Moose??
*FACT: OVER $100,000 was donated 2008 directly from this lodge to local charities. OVER $1000,000.
*ASK the Boy Scouts, March of Dimes, Parksidge High, Salvation Army and many others how they benifit from the "Big Room" with easy handicap parking and a kitchen?
*FACT: No one forces drinks down your throat...over indulging is a personal choice.
*ASK about the ball fields on the Moose property and the Boy Scout Building???
*Ask what this lodge does for YOUR community?????

You have a problem with "smart ass bartenders"...do the universal solution..tip 1 penny and write a signed complaint.
Form your own clique
Attend meetings and express yourself personally.
All else fails Documentation...document FACTS with signed witnesses and present it to Mooseheart.

Wow! I had no idea it had come to this! I'm a member since 1985, health and other issues have kept me as a part timer over the last 8-10 years. I consider both Ronnie Price and Ralph Shockley to be friends and both have worked very hard over the years to make 654 a great lodge. I have no knowledge of the current situation, but morn the loss to the community if the Lodge should close.

The moose lodge in Tempe AZ can be fun but like most others it attracts administrators that are interested in embezzling money and stealing from the club. Our current admin has ostracized most of the new membership, and some of the old membership has decided to quit because of the dishonesty.
This person is a fellow and has been admin of several lodges. It is shamefull.
I just don't think it is worth it to be a member of the Moose anymore.
We have traveled all over the USA and visited many other LOOM lodges for the last eight years. Everyone of the lodges are feeling the pressure of support..We have a great lodge at 654.. You need to support the Management their not perfict, but their working hard for all. Lets keep our lodge open
