Why Sussex County Loves Barrie Tilghman

Under her "leadership" as mayor, business firms have either passed up Salisbury
(the SoBo microbrewery) or relocated, as in this case, to Sussex. Salisbury Communications, Welcome To Delaware. Man, this is starting to get old. I'm going to have to start printing Welcome Cards. Especially for everyone selling their homes and moving to Delmar. This sign can clearly be seen at their old Salisbury location.

Their former location on East Main Street is now vacant and for sale, as also another building nearby. In Salisbury there is now a huge amount of vacant commercial space, and new development is winding down in that sector as already has occurred in the residential sector..

This is EXACTLY what Barrie Tilghman wants Folks. She wants an overflow of real estate available in a horrible market. Therefore her friends can buy property cheap and rent it. Look all around Salisbury and see who's still making all the money. People need places to work and sleep.

Losing SoBo's brewery/restaurant was no big deal - they mostly offer low-paying/no benefits-at-all jobs to young kids. They have few, few, FEW good jobs. I guess Tommy will have to go to Delaware to find waitresses that he can sleep with!

What a freak show that's going on in the hub city of DelMarVa. Instead of being a model for all the smaller towns around the shore by trying to attract business, they are trying to drive them away. Can everybody say: "CLEAN SWEEP" come election day.

Laughing my way around Somerset,

Bayboy

Has anybody seen what's going on with the building on Mt Hermon, right beside the credit union?

Yeah, that's the new Cathy's Pet Salon.

What's amazing is that with all the jobs leaving, there's a new "per salon" -- this place has really gone to the dogs!

To 5:03: We will be celebrating our 29th year of business with the relocation to 1005 Mt Hermon Road. Thanks for noticing the building. Hometown Builders has been doing a great job renovating this poor old building. Cathy-Jo Williams, Cathy's Pet Salon & Spa
