The festival will be the first of its kind in Wicomico County and feature some of the countries finest musical ensembles, bands, dance troupes and performance artists from all over the country. The festival is a collage of all types of performing artists from classical musicians to punk rock bands, featuring ballet dancers to street hip hop artists. Poets, actors, comedians, everything and anything goes. The event is a two day fusion of nonstop performing artists on five stages, unbelievable food and drinks all leading up to shows featuring top national acts.

The first annual Unicity Performing Arts Festival took place on August 2, 2008 in Middletown, DE and featured over 200 artists in a twelve hour period. The festival has expanded into a two day event from last year’s twelve hour one day event. Unicity Producer and Salisbury native Paul Lewis says, “We are very excited to be working with the Wicomico County Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism. The location is absolutely perfect and will take the festival to a whole new level."

Some new additions to this year’s festival will include amusement rides, beer vendors and a beach volleyball court. The format of the five stages will remain the same and include the Celebrity, Family, High Art, Variety and Emerging Stages. Tickets for the festival will go on sale in January.

Unicity is currently seeking artist submissions for the festival. For ways to submit, options of how to get involved such as sponsorships and volunteering or to find out more information on Unicity please visit www.unicityfestival.com or email info@unicityfestival.com
