We need to stop sending troops that dont have a combat jobs outside of the wire. All they do is go out of the wire and get into trouble. We the infantry soldiers are the only ones who should be outside of the wire. We also need to be more leniant with the rules of engagement. When my brigade was over there, we were hardly ever hit with IED's or ambushes. We were always on patrols and had posts set up 24/7. When we left we heard that the units that relieved us did not keep up to our standards that we were doing and they ended up having to pull out of a town that we had secured. Do the job right if you are going to do it. Just my 2 cents.
Afghanistan is like those 50s cars you are featuring today.....clunky relics of the "good old days"-the chic "new quagmire models" are named Iraq, Pakistan and Syria. Bush isn't going to be happy until he finds out if Josh Brolin will be playing him again in several years when "Pakistan Blackhawk Down" opens at a theater near you. The first thing they teach you (NOT!!!!!) at West Point is to have no concrete, identifiable victory/exit strategy, spread your forces incredibly thin across multiple unstable theaters, alienate your allies and take advantage of your own citizen reservists and their employers (which ultimately hurts our economy). You don't need to be too much of a genius to see W. is an idiot here-even a good/average,(o.k..rather poor) Risk player could develop sounder military policy and strategy.

That whole place is FUBAR. It's time to send Bush packing and let the adults run the war.
