When I saw his name at the police memorial in D.C., it gave me cold chills. There was another officer around the same time whose name escapes me for now. But I'll always remember them.
I will never forget this day as long as I live. This unspeakable tragedy robbed us of a truly wonderful person who menat so much to so many.
Never take our police officers for granted. Their job is dangerous sometimes and usually thankless. May God bless and protect them at all times.
He busted me once, but i deserved it. REST IN PEACE MR PLANK.
I will never forget that less than a week before he was murdered, I was working for a private ambulance service. We had been called to PRMC to take a juvenile who had beaten his mother to Shepard-Pratt in Baltimore. Eddie saw how violent he was and was about to go off duty. He offered to ride with us...I will never forget him for that.

Sometimes it seems just like yesterday. Thank you for remembering my brother. He loved his job and protecting the citizens of Maryland. Please keep all police officers and our military in your prays as they walk the beat!

Thanx. Yes, I recalled Trooper Monk shortly after logging off. Both are named at the memorial which commemorates all fallen officers. it's quite impressive if you get the chance to go. WOW!

Just to add to your list. TFC Edward last tour of duty was today 10/17/1995. On 10/28/1995 TFC Joeseph T. Lanzi was killed in a traffic accident while responding to back up a Sheriff's Deputy in North East, MD. TFC Eric D. Monk ws killed on a traffic stop in Westover, MD on 4/9/1988, by a passing vehicle. I knew each of the Troopers, and each gave their lives protecting and serving the citizens of Maryland. If you have not visited the Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial in Washington, DC, I urge you to do so.
I had the distinct pleasure of teaching Eddie in his senior year. He was among the most respectful young men I ever taught. Because he always wanted to do his best, he would often give up his lunch hour and stay after school so that he could have my help. What an unbelievable tragedy when his life was taken! I will always remember you, Eddie.

Maryland lost two great Troopers that night because one worthless piece of shit thought it was his time to excercise a "rite of passage." I hope that criminal rots in hell.
Wow-doesn't seem like that long ago.Mr.Eddie Plank Sr. was my kid sisters school bus driver,never knew Eddie Jr. personally but heard nothing but good things about him!And also,let us not forget the brave man whose home the two suspects broke into.He held them at gunpoint til police came if I remember rightly.
Out of curiousity,does anyone know the status of the two guys involved?Are they still incarcerated in North Carolina?
I was working the night he was shot. I will never forget hearing trooper down over the radio. As a cop you never expect it to happen to you, but it can in an instant.
The one who pulled the trigger is in Baltimore serving life + 110 years. The passenger was in North Carolina but I belive has been moved to a different location. He only has 8 more years and when his time is up he is suppose to be deported back to where ever he was from.
Thanks for the info-its good to know they will be locked up for infinity-I am suprised they did not get the death penalty,they would have in Texas or Florida!
Anyone who will shoot a cop will kill ANYONE with no conscience.
The guy that shot him did receive the death penalty which leads to an automatic appeal which the appeal judges over turned the sentence and we had to go back to trial for a second time and the jury decided on life the second go around
Eddie, I'm sooooo sorry there wasn't more we could do for you that night. Oct 17, 1995 changed my life forever. I will never forget you.......
