At least they HAVE arts organizations in Worcester County. In Wicomico, every arts organization except for the main arts council has failed.

We have a great Arts Council in Worcester County! During a review by the State Arts Council last spring we were given the highest marks available.
As a non profit organization we are allowed to spend 60% of our monies on staff and administrative costs, but instead we spend only 30%! The remaining 60% we give away! We give to High School Seniors who are going to college to pursue a career in the arts, we give to community organizations that are pursuing artist ventures, and we support new artists embarking on new projects. We also provide the absolutely most incredible summer camp for 3rd to 8th graders every summer, where we employ real artists to teach their skills to these eager young artists.
We have paid off our mortgage for our property in Berlin, and are remodeling additional space within it to increase our classes that we offer to both adults and children.
Our mission is to bridge the two ends of our long skinny county together so that citizens from both ends can reap the benefits of artistic influence in their lives.
Last year we were granted through local organizations the money to lease a space in Snow Hill, that provides us additional hanging space for artists in the Snow Hill area, plus a mid county space for classes.
We are also actively pursuing space in Pocomoke City, to establish a gallery for those artists in the South end of the county to display, and to engage Pocomoke and surrounding areas in even more cultural events to compliment the works in progress in the Marva Theater and Discovery Center.
We are always looking for artists, volunteers and members. As we feel the more people that can contribute their time and talents to our organization the better our organization will be.
We have a lot of fun, and do a lot of really interesting projects. So if you are interested in joining a really great team of people, call us at the WCAC, and tell Anna what you do, and ask how you can help.
