Where are the Salisbury Street Sweepers

If you ride and look at the many drains around the downtown plaza this is the sight you will undoubtedly see. Is that the way to welcome people to our All American City Mayor?

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU ,Salisbury has NO supervision.
They have NO leaders .Most everyone gets a pay-check for doing nothing!

It is not just the downtown plaza - it is all over the place. Water cannot possibly drain properly. Evidently there is no supervision of this department.

i have a news flash for you all... those street sweepers don't work worth two cents! whenever they come past my house, i end up with the the next street over's debris in front of my house. all those things do is spread the trash around! what's funny is... on a street where there are a lot of vehicles parked, the street sweeper doesn't even get close to the gutter! yet another waste of the tax-payer's money!

I don't think we can only blame the street sweepers here. Residents are just about as bad. Too many home owners who live on a street either sweep or have their mower throw the grass cuttings out in the street. I have a neighbor that does this regularly and it winds up clogging the street drain, which is right in front of his property.

Joe,there is fraud going around again. This one is out of St.Charles,Mo. You recieve a check in the mail from BAMA LOGISTICS,INC. with a letter telling you you have won in the 2008 north-american lottery. The check is made out for a thousand dollars more than the tax money they want you to send them by western union or moneygram. I called the bank in mo. and they told me it is a fraud. you deposit the check, send them money and then the check they send you bounces and your out the money you sent plus bank fees. The bank ask me to let the media here know about it and get the word out to everyone. My letter said i had won 55,500.00. If it sounds to good to be true, rest assured it is.

if you're reply was directed to me (anon 1:01)... i DO pick it up when it's in front of my house! but i'm tired of picking up trash that was brought to me from around the corner! these street sweepers are a HUGE waste of money and they accomplish NOTHING! people need to just take care of their own rubbish! but as we have seen in the past, this rarely happens! just drive around salisbury and take a good look!

ps. anon 3:19 just let me know where you live and i'll come throw a bunch of trash in front of YOUR house! all you'll have to do is just pick it up... right?

Grinch,

Did you pick up the trash?

I was following the City Trash Truck down Truitt Street today, it was dropping trash everywhere.

Can you just imagine if we had a real crisis here? No electric or water for days? You'd need an AK-47 to go out and see if there was any mail. Looting, robbing and tearing up stuff galore.

What kind of disaster planning does local government use? Where it can be found?

You know it would be one giamt clusterF'

I was sitting at a stoplight at 12:00pm so didn't think it a good idea to get out of my truck to pick this trash up. I agree the people that litter are as much to blame, but wish the Mayor would get the streets cleaned up.

Georgetown made sure to clean out all of their drains before we got hurricane remnants and the town looks great! I can't say the same for here...

Hey Joe, the City Yard has a bunch of old, uneducated, lazy cronies who can barely take care of their own needs, let alone take care of cleaning up the City. There's a old fart named Landon working there who must be 80 yrs. old.

This is what is wrong with Salis-barrie. Residents picking on the folks that actually do things for this CITY. I agree this town looks dirty but the problem lies within the GOV'T!! Overworked, Underpaid, and Under-Staffed!!! Some departments only have a half dozen workers trying to accomplish the W-H-O-L-E CITY and others have dozens of workers. If WE weren't here, YOU would suffer. So give Public Works a break and tell your Mayor to give us some help and maybe some more money, then we would be proud to take care of YOUR city!!

3:19 I clean my section of the street and I expect others to do the same. And by the way I'm past 80 also!

I work for Bama Logistics out of St Charles that is mentioned here in connection with a lottery fraud. We are a transportation company. One of the checks we issued to a factoring company (a company that provides advances to carriers) was copied and used in this scam. All the checks have the same check number. We have gotten reports of hundreds of attempts to cash these bogus checks and have gotten a couple letters from individuals looking for their "lottery" money. Our bank brought it to our attention and contacted the authorities. Just so there is no misunderstanding, we are a victim of this scam not the perpetrators.
