Stu Leer - Coming to a Theater Near You

Stu Leer, the slumlord come folk hero who took on the Tilghman administration and won, is fighting another battle with the fascist forces of Barrieland. Leer's refusal to be intimidated by the jackboot tactics of Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman and her horde of incompetent, overreaching appointees is an inspiration to all concerned with fighting the good fight.

Unfortunately for Salisbury taxpayers, Tilghman is forcing them to foot the bill for what appears to be another sequel to JACKASS. Read More ...

I’d rather see Stu Leer get $20k than see another dime be given to one of Barries developer buddies. The cost of his lawsuit is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions she has given away, because she could.

If the city is going to go broke, let it go broke righting the many injustices incurred during the Tilghmans reign of terror. Beats handing everything over to developers.

WILBER WINS AGAIN (in the wallet, not court) --

Now, even more legal fees for him as a result of Barrie's grudge against Mr. Leer because he supported Carolyn Hall for mayor in 1998. Barrie's decision to use her power and puppets to "get even" with him has already cost about $20,000 in City funds, and this will mean at least 10,000 more in legal fees, not to mention the award that Mr. Leer will get if it goes to trial.

Just imagine what a jury will do with this outrageous episode.

[from an earlier post on this]

This must be the subject of that recent closed meeting of the City Council "to discuss pending litigation" (or some such).

"City attorney Cindy McDonald said that is all the city owes, but Leer plans to dispute that opinion in court."

Isn't that the attorney who was in the case in Annapolis that the City lost to Leer? Where's Paul Wilber these days?

7:15 AM

It's really outrageous:

Mr. Leer wins and gets $43.21 from the City.

City attorney loses and gets thousands from the City.

Thanks a lot, Barrie, for deciding to "get even" with Mr. Leer because he supported Carolyn Hall.

Once again the winner will be the City Attorney -- more fees even if Mr. Leer wins, again!

7:52 AM

Who is the City Attorney: Mr. Wilber or Ms. McDonald?

7:53 AM

Wilber is the City Attorney. MacDonald works for him.

if stu beat that team of attorney's in court (TWICE) he should be compensated in the same manner, or possibly more than the losing attorney. sure makes for changes in that department after the next election we need to appoint a new city attorney, this one sucks, that's 3 high profile property issue cases he's lost in the last two years, he's a loser.
