The Barrie approach might work????

"Due to an influx of calls, 911 has been changed to an unpublished number! Please check your directory and try again!"

Hell that's not news. We've known for quite some time that replacing Jack n Coke with a real police chief, of the Coulbourne Dykes/Mike Lewis caliber crime would go down.

The new mayor is going to have to bring a big broom to office with him/her.

Amen...starts at the top. How I wish we could get that Annapolis chief down here.

Maybe we could get him to start a program, "Rent a Chief," where you get a kick-ass chief for a year to help get things going in the right direction, then he/she moves to the next blighted city.

wasn't it about a year ago now the cop announced crime was down and especially violent crime? Also there was a new task force type of police teams working on the problems?
at the time there had been about 3 murders and this year there have been even more. i'm all for curfews in the "trouble spots". From midnight to 6, until it's dark at 6.

get a proactive instead of a reactive chief that will work with the officers and actually know what the officers are doing. Get a chief that cares about the community they serve would be nice too.
