The PAC-14 Fiasco - Part V…

Should Ratepayers and Taxpayers Fund an Organization With No Accountability?

Today is our fifth and final installment in the "Great PAC-14 Fiasco.

You've already read some of the reasons why the plan being but forth by SU's "Transitional Task Force" (since the SU representatives seem to be the folks so hell bent on secrecy and impropriety) is the wrong way to go.

Today I present some alternatives that would hopefully provide us with a public access channel that is well funded, well governed, and ACCOUNTABLE to the folks who are really footing the bill - YOU.

Thank you, Mr. Harrison, for exposing this outrageous situation that the mainstream media has simply refused to cover, much less investigate.

A source at SU has advised that it has been underway for over a year now, with the active involvment of Ms. Crockett (of both SU and PAC-14's board) as well as city and county officials participating from the get-go. There can be no doubt of their conspiracy of silence.

Apparently out local champions of "transparent government" are among the co-conspirators.

Assume for a moment, all your proposals come to fruition.
How can the public get what they want?
Will there be a vote somehow? A referendum?
(The taxpayers never get what most seem to want.)

I differ with this analysis on one fairly minor point. Wor-Wic should not become one of the "partners" or have any management role in PAC-14. That would further institutionalize this endeavor and is not necessary for any legetimate reason.

In fact it would be desirable to remove SU as well, but that would be impractical and any attempt to do so would confound things further.

How come those meetings were held in secret and not covered on PAC-14?

I know -- it's a dumb question!

Apparently the masterminds of this secret scam include Ms. Crockett (who was probably following orders from someone at SU), Louise Smith, John Pick (another "follower") and John Cannon, among others. Thanks for blowing their cover (Pretl and Tilghman and the "transition task force") GA.

Not sure, yet, about Mr. Pollitt's involvment.

Stay tuned.

If you want to pull the wool over someones eyes, best way to do it is hold secret meetings. I think this whole affair stinks from its beginning! If it doesn't stink, something sure does smell!
