I'm curious. Why does it take this Blog to get the proper people out there to remove signs like this one? This has been sitting there for weeks and as much as I see Public Works right here on this corner, (almost daily) these signs don't get pulled. I don't know about you but I see them everywhere in Salisbury.

If you want to see scads of illegal signs, drive by any of the large apartment complexes owned by FOB's.

What about non-profit events?
Is it just with-in Salisbury, or county wide?
The ACLU has probably declared it illegal to take the signs down - just as they have political signs. Somerset Co passed an amendment (as I am sure other places have) that Political Signs do not have to be removed - ever - because the ACLU was going to sue. Wonder what Lady Bird Johnson would have said about this?

In most places, this type of advertising sign is illegal on public land or right-of-ways. Political signs may be placed there but must be removed within 48hours of the election at which the candidate's fate is decided. I don't know about non-profit events. Nor do I know for sure what Smallsbarrie and Wicomico County rules/laws are. But I believe it is Code Compliance, not Public Works, that has control. Call Tom Stephenson's office.
Joe, there are signs in front of apartments and condos that are much more offensive than these. Junk cars towed, health insurance, yard sales, and goat roasts. At least these people are looking for work..not on the public dole.
